Hi everyone sorry vanished for a while - had a bit of a shocker over Xmas as fiance was made redundant and it was touch and go whether the Wedding should be put on hold.... but he's got another job so it's all back on
Dress is now hanging in the spare room - oopsy have at least half a stone to lose as over indulged and curbed stress with food! Thank goodness I have until October!
Now need to find a photographer and still finding peeps are so expensive!
Hope everyone else is ok x0 -
Hiiii:) I'm getting married on October 12th in Chichester and reception on Hayling Island, our room reception has huge windows looking over the sea...so beautiful!
Got my venue booked (going to a wedding fayre there on Saturday to book the decorators and ask more questions!) We managed to get a lot of things freee for the wedding as we got shown around by the Sales manager ( as the wedding planner wasn't around) and as she didnt know exactly what we should have got included in the price, she ended up promising us our room hire for free and DJ for free! Saved us over £1000 as the wedding planner couldn't go back on what the sales manager had said!
Brought my bridesmaids dresses ( REALLY cheap but so so so beautiful in the BHS sale). I just won a videographer for the day YAAY! I told them our story of how we met, and loved us so much we won!:j
Luckily our photographer is a family friend, and the cake is being made by my Hubby-to-be's aunty, who is a professional cake maker.
I have my dress already! Just need to lose more weight, BUT work has been so busy I dont get home till late and end up eating loads! I still have till October sooo if i start now, I should be alright ( I HOPE!!).
I think I have organised most things, going to now start making the invitations! eeeeek so close now!
It's so nice to share all our experinces with other 2013 October brides! Keep happy!:):) X0 -
Hi everyone,
I am also an October bride. My wedding is the 12th October.
I have arranged quite a few things I think so far, church and venue booked, dress bought (£300 on EBay for a £1200ndress, so happy!), bridesmaids dresses bought, all men's suits have been booked and paid for.
We have arranged our photographer, he is a guy who does the photos at my fellas workplace and is doing the full day for £500. He is then going to put all the photos on a disc for us so we can print whichever we want. I think this is a reasonable price?!
I've sent out save the date cards. Now looking at invitations but can't make my mind up! I go a great offer on chair covers, sashes and table decorations so have paid the deposit for these.
My flowers are being done by a school friend for cost so that's a great help. I'm not bothering with flowers for the church though, personally I don't think a church needs decorating so saving there too. My cake has been chosen and again is being made by a friend for £100.
Phew I actually think I have done quite a lot considering I didn't think I had made much of a start!
Now to get on with the diet, I have 1 year old twins and a fair bit of baby weight to lose before I fit in my dress. Pressure is on but it gives me a focus!
Sorry if I have waffled on there!0 -
Well, I noticed on the Francesca Bridal website on Friday evening that there was a 2 day warehouse clearance type sale. I didn't really expect much, but I went today with my sis and mum and found the perfect dress. It fits like a glove and it is absolutely beautiful. I asked if they have such sales often and they said there's another at the end of March. I'd definitely recommend it. Definitely worth the drive to Tamworth.0

PeppaPuss thats great news about your dress!
Had a productive day to day, ordered and paid for our rings and managed to get £115 off the price (Really pleased that I asked as we were probably going to get them there anyway)
Also booked our Celidh Band (£250 cheaper than the ones we were thinking of usin) very pleased.
Also saw my OH's aunt at the weekend and she has given me some ideas for our cake that she is going to make. OHs Uncle has also offered to do the place names (he can do Calligraphy)
For my Birthday my mum gave me a load of bits to start making the invatations with so thats my next challange.
Bit stuck on the suits, I hate the idea that we have to hire and collect the week of the wedding - we have to use a chain prob Moss Bros as people are based all around the country, where are you all getting suits from?

Hello October 2013 Brides  I'd like to join in!
Our wedding is this October and sometimes I think I'm on track with planning and then someone walks in and tells me about plans someone has made for their 2014 wedding and I just gulp....
Here's where I am:
Booked church and reception venue early February.
Photographer deposit paid to secure date.
And at the moment I am concentrating on transport and entertainment.
I think the next thing should be bridesmaid dresses (2) as that will decide the colours and hopefully lead onto the men's kilts and decorations coming together.
Oh dress..DRESS!! When does that fit in?!?!?!?!
See? I think im on track then have a wee panic :rotfl:
How are you all getting on? Am I far behind everyone..?
Congratulations to you all, we are very lucky girls, and Im delighted to have found a place with brides in a a similar place as myself.0 -
Hi I am getting married on October 2nd in Zante....my fiance and I were together 20 years ago when we were teenagers for 2 years, for a house together, got engaged but too much too young so split up. We had our only holiday in zante in 1991 and it seems fate that we go back and marry there. We have been back together for 3 years and I can't wait to marry him :j
I have got my wedding dress (£60 brand new from e bay) and his and my daughter's bridesmaid dresses (just very pretty summer dresses from sainsburys for £10.80 with my staff discount and 25% off Tu clothing)...got rings when h samuel had a wedding event so got a nice discount. Just gradually paying it off and just have shoes and my finances outfit to get....the cake is provided and a bit of bubbly. The only 'extra' I am considering is mine and our daughters hair though I wish I could take my hairdresser and possibly a photographer.
Hope you all have lovely days0 -
Hello all!
He finally gave me my ring, so it's all official!
Wedding is on 5th October and so far I have booked the hall, caterer, bar, DJ, photographer, make up and I have a dress.
Still need to organise bridesmaids dresses, flowers, favours and hairdresser.
Less than 7 months to go now! Exciting times. Our budget is around £4500 for everything, 100 guests. It's a bit more than I thought I'd spend, but I guess we only do this once, and we won't be getting into any debt for it, so it's fine
Happy days xxAll you need is less0 -

Make that a triplet...
Hey guys it's been a while since I last posted but I'm happy to say it's official now and we've got the 5th October booked as the 5th has actually been our lucky number; we've been seeing it everywhere during important occassions in our life!
After reading all the new posts I'm not sure if I should be freaking out or not.
Only thing sorted on our end is:
Church
Restaurant (Venue/Catering)
We don't need transport as the church is across the street from my parent's house. (Which is where I'll be to get ready.) I think we may borrow a friend's car to drive to the restaurant. We also won't be needing flowers at the restaurant as it's beautifully decorated anyway and plus the amount of food will mean no space for them. As the restaurant is quite small we can't really fit a dj so we're just making a cd for background music whilst everyone chatters over the meal.
I'm making the invites as I need it in English and another language. Hoping to get it finalised this month as I would like to send it out in April as we have many guests abroad who need longer notice.
Currently casually looking:
wedding dresses
Photographer
Videographer
Flowers for church
Will eventually look at:
bridesmaid dresses (once I've decided who they all are!)
make up
Hair stylist
corsages/buttonhole
So far I'm taking a rather relaxed approach with this because of the restaurant type/size has saved me headache in many areas i.e table linen, decorating, entertainment and with the local church being on my door step and brother being the pianist for the ceremony means I don't need to worry too much with transport or church music.
Anyone got any other ideas of what I'm missing/should perhaps consider?
Good luck with the rest of your planning!:)0
