Having read thro most of the threads, it looks like I sent my first letter to the wrong address. I sent mine to Prescot Street.
(It was posted on 26 Feb, so still time for the Abbey to reply.)
Has anyone who did the same and sent their ltr to Prescot St received their copy statements?0 -
yep mine went to prescot street....mind you it was a fair while agoLegalBeagles0

I sent off the first letter to Abbey asking for my statements with a £10 cheque and was sent the last 14 months worth of statements with a letter saying the rest of the 6 years was on microfiche and would follow on.
Well that was on the 23rd Feb, how long should I wait before getting back onto them for the rest of the statements??
Cheers.0 -
send them a reminder now if you lilke, but once the 40 days are up and you dont have them send them a threat of the ICO and/or court for non complaince. The ICO has ruled the microfiche are relevant and abbey are bound by the 40 days so that should give abbey a little tap on the butt.LegalBeagles0

Does any one have a phone number for the Bradford head office.
I sent them a letter at the end of Jan asking for all my charges, I got a reply stating I had to fill out a change of address form, which I done. This was about a month ago and still no statements arrived.
I wanted to give them a call as they still have no cashed the cheque I sent either.
If they do not send them soon i will have to make an offical compliant.
Thanks for help0 -

Hi, this is my first post here though I've been a fan of the site for a while. I'm currently claiming the abbey for £3811 of charges and have so far had two letters fobbing me off with their complaints procedure and an offer of only £638, obviously I will keep fighting but am very nervous about going to court and also I stay in Scotland and I think it's going to be very difficult to start proceedings because of the amount. Does anyone have any ideas how I start the proceedings and has anybody won without taking it this far?0

If you have an address is England you can use that to file from and use the English court system....bit of a hassle if you have to attend court but thats quite unusual. Otherwise I would say use the FOS instead of the court system.LegalBeagles0

You could put your claim through the Financial Ombudsman for ease as you are claiming in Scotland.
Have a look through the thread about Claiming in Scotland
and check out the Govan Law Centre for ways you can get round this if you can use an address in England or Wales for instance.0
