    Just a quickie!
I have sent the 1st 2nd and 3rd letters- and offered a GOGW of £470 (including cancellation of pending charges) from a claim of £2609. I wrote back saying that I would only accept this as part payment and gave a further 7 days before which I would start the court proceeding for the rest of the money.
The seven days is now up- Is it worth ringing them to see if there is another offer before I start court proceedings ? I would really rather avoid it if possible and was wondering if anyone else had been successful by trying this- or after a GOGW do you have to go all the way so to speak ?
    Thanks x

Gemstar If you arent prepared to accept the offer and nervous about 'going all the way' perhaps you could write and advise them what you will settle for. Its all about what you really want to achieve from the whole process so only you can decide that really. If you are nervous about the court option please be encouraged by others stories on here there are so many successful cases and it would be wonderful if you could get back everything. There is a thread on here from a woman who went to court yesterday where she details what happened in court and its very inspirational. Gimme a sec and I'll edit this post with the link when I've found it so you can have a read.

Found it (Thanks to original poster):

Hope that helps you decide what to do and wish you the best of luck :)

  • help, abbey have written to me in response to my court letter saying they will look into it but could take up to 8 weeks??

I phoned them and they said my letter will be treated as a complaint so that is how long process will take. should i proceed with court??

    Any tips gratefully received.

You either have to sit it out or start the court proceedings and it appears that with Abbey you have to take it to court.

    Hi Keggie1979,

Just to confirm that i got my statements throughnormal post too, but like its been said, they send full statements. You need to look out for the abbreviated letters of CHG for the charges. May seem obvious but the question has been asked on here.
    Hope this helps!

    Good luck!

You're very welcome :) Top thanks to the original poster of her court experience it was just what a lot of people needed I think. There's so much information on here that is fantastically useful, much of it posted by the same few people and repeatedly, (you know who you are and thank you :) )

Sometimes all you need is a little push and I was happy to do that, best of luck :)
