  • Quick question ... I have sent my letter 1 and £10 cheque to shabby and got the usual reply "will send 14 months statements ,rest on micro fiche".

have recieved my 14 months and the rest arrived this morning ! but according to Shabby i have only had one CHG in 6 years and underneath that it says REV 30.00 .

i dont have my statements from that far back as i changed banks but kept the abbey one open for daft little DD`s and stuff. I know we were charged all the time because SKY kept taking the dd out early when no money in account, this was happening on a very regular basis.

    Can anyone help please !

I finall took the plunge last month and went to reclaim my charges.

I have now received a letter from Abbey, sending my cheque back, stating that my addresss differs from that registered on my account, despite me living here for 3 years and sending me all sorts of correspondence. Thay have asked that i fill a form in and send a copy of a recent bill or bank statement (with my current address that they claim isnt registered!!). I rang up to query this and the chap at the other end of the line (general call centre) said that it was a mistake and they had my address.

Now, im due a response by the middle of March. are they trying to fob me off or do you think the guy in the call centre was correct. He had no way to access any correspondence related to the claim so im dubious. Should i fill in the form they want completing or ring them again?

    thanks

Like a few others on this forum, I am also awaiting to hear back after filing MCOL. Had the statutory letter saying they will defend their claim and needed back up of how the charges were worked out. Sent them copies of previous letters yet again and excel spreadsheets via recorded delivery. They have got until the 5th March, so will keep you posted.
Good luck everyone, don't forget it's our money and we are going to get it back !!!

  • I'm Going Into Battle With Scabby National On Behalf Of My Wife And All This Is New To Me.why Would They Ask For Details Of Charges We Are Trying To Claim Back When They Have All The Statements On Record, and If It Just A Time Wasting Exercise Do I Have To Reply To Them Or Their Solicitors, many Thanks For Any Advice
  • Hiya,

I am in the middle of claiming back £4336.00 from Abbey and have got to the stage of them replying to my letter asking for the above amount back.

In that letter i gave them 14 days to respond - they responded after 2 days saying they would be investigating my complaint and would respond to me with their findings within 40 days.

Do i have to wait for the 40 days to be up (it has now been 18 days since i received that letter) as they have in theory responded to my letter, or do i go ahead and send them the 'court action' threat letter?

    Thanks!
