    Hi People,

I finally received a list of my charges over 6 years but found only to discover ABBEY left out 12 months. I rang them up and was put through to the 'ACCOUNTS CHANGING TEAM' ON 01274 368393. They will send out any missing statements etc. I have to wait 14 days.

Can anyone advise if I can claim back on: INT DEBIT. I THINK THIS MEANS INTEREST DEBIT???

( my account is a closed current account). The statement is an awful printout.

Look forward to hearing from anyone.

    Help please!!!!

Oh is trying to get back 5200 from abbey, have received a letter offering 433.
We are sending them this letter

I cannot accept your offer of £433.00 as full and final settlement
I will accept this as part payment and without prejudice,
But i will continue my claim for the balance.
Please forward payment of £433.00 in form of a cheque paid to mr ******

    Does this sound ok?
If we say this will they agree to give us the £433 now and in cheque form (he has a large debt with them which is being payed off at £1 mth) or will they pay the £433 towards his debt OR can they just say take the £433 or get nothing?

Please help we desperately need reassurance!!! We want to take it further than this as £433 is a pathetic offer but if we could get that much for now it would help so so much (have mot next mth!).

I would think it is highly unlikely Abbey will agree to pay anything now if you tell them you are continuing your claim, especially not by cheque!!

The reply of accepting an offer in part payment is generally used when the bank puts the money into the account at the same time as making the offer.

You would be better refusing the offer and proceeding to court but be aware it is unlikely they will pay you by cheque either at this point or at a later point if there is a debt on the account.

Ok, will scrap that, refuse the offer and carry on then.

    Thanks for the advice.

Finally got our statements through today, I cant make sense of any of it. I cant tell what is a charge, is it coded in some way? They have done well to disguise it!

  • hi there,

abbey put a defence in for my claim then agreed to settle out of court the same day. i have received the allocations questionnaire from the court today but i am still awaiting the cheque from Abbey, i don't want to cancel the claim with the court until i receive my cheque, is there a time limit to send the allocations questionnaire back?
