Continue with your claim, ignore their stalling and please don't write ALL IN CAPS!
  • I am claiming £2150 charges back from the Abbey
They only have a week left before their 14 days are up and i start court proceedings.
I have received a letter from them saying my case is under investigation and they will get back to me
What does this mean and would you advise i carry on and proceed with court action next week or wait until they rewrite to me or are they staling for time
Any help will be taken with great interest:p
  • Standard letter, carry on with your time frame.
  • Thanx for that

i know this will is the million dollar question but what is the average time from start of court proceedings to final outcome?
  • I:money: am just starting the process, thanks to Martin's info. which i stumbled across by mistake.

I have done the following (but i have 1 or 2 questions still to ask):

    1 - I have written to my bank and i possess 2 @'s
2 - I enclosed a cheque of £10.00 each and received seperate confirmations a fortnight later
3 - I received the information, that is, list of all account details/transactions from 2000 plus a promise of the latest 15 bank statements in the post shortly
4 - The i5 other statements came in the post as promised (And all this took 5 - 6 weeks in total)
5 - I prepared a print-out of charges on both accounts, first - joint Current account and the second - an instant plus account.
6 - Just yesterday i sent the standard letter Martin recommended and a list totalling all charges and interst and the WI amount i ntended to reclaim in two seperate letters.

Martin (or if anyone can help me)

    My question is -

I sent the letters to Abbey, data protection team, data protection manager, Regulatory Compliance, 201 Grafton Gate East, Bletchley, Milton Keynes.

Was this the right address? :A

    Thanks
    :money:

I made my £10 payable to Abbey and sent it to the same address. It took them about 2-3 weeks to send me the info I requested.

  • Hi guys!!

I found this site last night and was up all night compiling my letters requesting my statements from Abbey and Abbey Credit Card. I hope I can get some cash back as I cant remember a time when I wasn't charged something!!

I called Abbey and asked for an address of where to send my letter to and they said they would send out my statements from the last 6years asap, no payment was requested, I did still ask for the address of my local bank and will still send them a letter requesting for my statements all the same, Just so there is a paper trail.

I called Abbey credit card (MBNA) this morning requesting the same, they're closed on weekends and their specific dept can ony be contated on weekdays on 0800 7833450.

Good luck people, fingers crossed, I'll keep you updated on my progress!!
