Hello - new here, very interested in screwing my bank like they screwed me!
One question if anybody would be so kind to answer it; I have a loan with 8k / 5 years remaining.
All this talk about Abbey closing bank accounts, does anyone have any experience with Abbey forcing early repayment of a loan? Can they do that?0 -
Hi
First time I've tried this. I have sent an initial letter to Abbey requesting a refund of charges amounting to £175. They have sent a generic reply stating they are "sorry that you felt the need to complain" and that they are "investigating your complaint". They also said that it could take up to 4 weeks?!
Has anyone else claiming with Abbey had this? Can I proceed to threaten court action at this stage due to the fact I am not happy with the level of response?
Thanks in advance.0 -
Standard letter from Abbey as you'll see in this thread, just carry on with the next letter.

hi,
Abbey have until 28 jan to submit a defense to my court claim, if they don't submit by sumday - at what time can i file for judgement? i.e can i do it sunday mid day or do i have to wait until mid night?0 -
After receiving a list of my charges I printed off my letter and hand delivered it to my nearest Abbey branch. It's less than a minute's walk so it made sense just to hand it in and I asked for the name of the person I handed it to and told her it was for the attention of the manager.
Needless to say it's now 14 days on and I've not heard a sausage. Should I send the letter again recorded or move on to the next stage having given them the chance?
Not sure what to do now, any suggestions welcome!0 -

If you're doing it online I believe you can't actually do anything until the "correct" time anyway.0 -
