I'm totally confused nowAbbey wrote:
"As you know, we are currently looking into your complaint and it has now been eight weeks since you first contact Abbey"
4 months actually:rolleyes: Do they have different calendars? First letter was dated 4th April.
"If you do not want to wait any longer, you can go to the Financial Ombudsman Service now"
They've enclosed details of how to contact the Ombudsman. So do I assume that it's a waste of time going down that route?
BTW, our claim might be slightly different from others? Abbey authorized payment on a Debit card, then charged £150 because he used it thinking his wages had gone in. He didn't want an overdraft or credit card as he was concerned about possible overspending and incurring bank charges so they advised he took out a debit card....then charged him anyway:rolleyes: Not sure whether this makes a difference to the procedure??

asked abbey for £6500.was given £800 as goodwill gesture.wrote to fos.was then offered £2500.offer declined.asked fos to pursue it.phoned fos on tuesday and asked could i change my mind and now accept the 2500 as this test case could drag out and i may end up getting nothing.the fos advised me that they are still pursuing my case and that abbey will have to look at it as an offer had already been made.i was under the impression that there had been a suspension on all cases by the fos.anybody alse have a similar case.0

Hi all
I have been away & have come back to all this I can't believe it anyway I was at the stage of threatening court after the Abbey cheekily paid £50.00 into my account, obviously I have had no response to my threat what shall I do now. Any advice

I have got to the stage of having my statements and then sending letter to ask for my charges back from Abbey. Do i need to stop everything or can i try and file a claim with court? Its seems unfair that if you have to wait you could lose upto 12 mths worth of charges if thats how long the test case takes.:rolleyes:0

HI
I posted a tread somewhere and can't find it!! a bit think eh! but hopefully I'll be able to find this one again.
My question is: at the end of last year I started the process of contacting Abbey, Cap One, Barclays and got as far as getting the info from Abbey and Barlcays, then get a GOGW from Abbey of 800 pounds.
When I tried to follow it to next step they said it would go to court. I go in bit of a panic, tried to complet a spreadsheet, and as you can see already, Im not too hot with technology and had to give up.
My question is, can I start to the reclaim process again, as I am still being charged and am frankly, a bit hacked off with the whole thing!
Can anyone give me advice?
Many thanks

Hi
All
Please can you help me in what i should do.
I use to be a member way back and have already started the ball rolling sometime ago.I got to the stage where they offered £850.00 which they paid straight into my account,Which then isaid i would accept but NOT as full payment and would persue the rest.
I never heard from them again ,Time passed i got cold feet but now i feel stronger to fight them how do i go about sending letter to say that i am taking them to court if they do not pay me.
It as been over 6 months since i sent them the letter about i accept as part payment.
Do i just send the letter and see what happens
Also how do i find old posts
My user ID was jilly1973 but i cant find them ???
thanks in advance0 -
