Firstly, please don't write in CAPITALS. Secondly, all the information you need should be in the two links in my signature. Read carefully Martin's article, it's a step by step guide. If you still have questions, please post back.0 -

I have just received a letter from Abbey after several "we will respond within four weeks" letters. I am claiming for just under £900 of bank charges and they have offered £180! In fact the money has already been credited to my account. They obviously assume that the matter is done and dusted! I think it is a very poor response having waited since May this year. My question is should I just accept this is all I can expect or (as is my gut feeling) go to the next stage and send them the next letter informing them of court action.0

No mate i would not accept that.
I would write a letter refusing the offer and threatening them with small claims court unless they pay the full amount0 -

hi i am taking abbeys to small claims court for £500.00 at which point i opened a parachute account and did not use the account but as i was overdrawn with bank charges the following month they charged me £153.26 and i sent them the letters from here which they told me they were going to ignore so i then served them with cc papers again and because i did not pay the charges they now want to charge me £180.00 so i served them with cc papers again as they got the cc papers for the £153.26 they offerd me £99.00 which i refused they are demanding all my cards and cheque books back if i dont they want to charge me for sending some one round for them on the case for £500.00 a judge at my cc has asked me to attend to tell me something in person to do with the claim can abbeys do this and any advice0

Hi Sooty,
You need to stick to your time scale, if you've given them the 14 day time scale, take it to the next level. They are just stalling for time in the hope you will get fed up. They wouldn't wait for 4 weeks to take the money from you account, so don't let them dictate the timescale to you.
Hope this helps

Hope you can help, I have MCol issued toAbbey on the 5th of July, am I right in thinking that if they don't acknowledge it by the 19th, that I have won by default?
