8 weeks are their complaints procedure. You only have to wait that long if you are thinking of using the Financial Ombudsman. If you want to file a court claim, YOUR timescale is 2 letters x 14 days each and then file the claim.

Also meant to ask were Abbey aware that you had moved address? If so i wouldnt be too happy about them sending financial info to another address. If any problems refer to the Information Commissioner.

    Hi All,
Served Abbey with MCoL on 2nd July, they have filed a defence on the 4th of July, do they usually defend so quickly, or is it because I'm trying to get back over £2500. From reading the other threads, they normally wait until the last day to file a defence, any thoughts or ideas.

    Thanks in advance

    Hi Sparky,
I am also claiming from abbey, MCOL "issued" my claim on 02/07/07 so I am assuming it was "served" yesterday. I have checked on line and it still says issued, can I just ask how do you know when they have filed a defence?

    GOOD LUCK!
