    Hi Marie,

Very good news indeed, do you know if their is a template letter asking the judge to throw the banks defence out of court.

I have been trying to get my money back of Abbey since Jan and they have stalled at every single stage writting to me on the last day of the dealines, acknowledging the court claim on the last day, putting in a defence on the 28th day etc etc.

If you could let me know what to put into the letter once I have a court date, that would be appreciated.

    Thanks Marie

Thats really inspiring news, well done for trying it and finding that it works.

Could you please paste up a sample letter or email it to me, as my partner is currently in dispute with Abbey.

    Once again, thanks

    Sarah

  • I am about to send the first letter to Abbey and would like to hear from anyone who has had any success with this bank. All help would be appreciated.

  • Hello!

Another Abbey growler here. Can anyone help? Please!!

I have read various information on this site, all of which I have found extremley helpful, but I've now got to a point where I feel grrrrrr!!

I used the template and sent off my first letter. I received 1 years bank statements back, plus a spreadsheet of a summary of bank charges from Jan 04 - Jan 06, (which I don't understand - a bit dumb of me, I know).

I then used another template supplied on this site stating I would report the Abbey to the information commissioner....blah, blah, blah. This time I had a speedy response, however, I have only received statements from 01/02/01 - 15/01/04 and these are printed in a completely different way compared to my 'usual' easy to read statements!

Does anyone have any ideas of what I should do next? I would be very grateful for any advice.

Thanks for your time in reading this and 'good luck' everyone!

I doubt anyone can help without actually seeing them.

If they contain the data relevant to your account then all I can suggest is that you do whatever is necessary to figure them out e.g. po in to your branch and ask them to explain it, or even try your CAB to see if they can shed any light on them.

can somone tell me of there experience with claiming bank charges from Abbey.
I would not have even looked at the charges on my account if i had not been reading the news.
i have found £4200 worth of charges and have submitted the scond letter asking for charges to be refunded.

any feed back about Abbey would be appreciated
