    Hi,
I started my claim with Abbey in December and now I am trying to take out court proceedings via Money-claim on line. I am having problems. After completing all my details of the claim including the statement I can go no further; I am getting an error message to the effect that I have missed something out or made a mistake on the last page. I haven't, but can go no further. Has any one-else had this problem and if so how did you get past it? I need to get this sorted asap. Thanks in advance.

    Hi

Abbey were reasonably quick compared to some ppls experience obviously.
Just did the stuff suggested on this site, and claiming £2750.
They have paid £1,008 into my bank....but I am still going for the remainder.

They have filed a defence, which gives them until 24th May!

    We shall see what happens!

    good luck all!

I have offered Abbey a settlement of just over £5000 - and they have written to me today saying they are sorry to hear I have a complaint and are looking into it but it could take 4 weeks!! Has anyone had any success with the Abbey, and did this happen to you?

    Hi All,
What a fab sight - I have been reading for a few weeks and theres some brilliant advice on here so thought I would jump on in.
I requestsed copies of last 6 years statements from Abbey on 1st March but didnt send the £10 payment initially but Abbey wrote and asked for the fee so I completed the form for them to debit the £10 direct from my account. They took the fee on the 30th March but I still have only received the last 14mths statements and the summary of charges for 2004-2006 but still awaiting the summary for 2001-2003.
I wrote to them on the 24th April reminding them they only have 40 days to comply and followed it up with a chasing phone call yesterday only to be told that the Admin department now have 12 wks in which to send out the requested?!
Is the 40 days up from my initial letter (1/3/07) or from when they took payment (30/3/07)??? Should I now be reporting to IMO?
As my claim in total will be over £5000 should I start the claim now seperately for 2004-2006 and then send a second claim for 2001-2003 once the summary of charges have been received?
    Any advice very much appreciated.
    Many thanks in advance.

    Hi Everyone.

Today I received a letter from Abbeys Banking specialist team at Milton Keynes. My claim is for £3500, they say they have sent a cheque to their debt management department for £633 so I can repay some of my outstanding balance. My account is closed and in the hands of Abbeys debt management agency SQN. This is different from Abbeys debt management department though.

I rang SQN twice today and one of their reps told me that this money will be paid to them. If I choose to accept it, that will be the end of the matter, and if I want to get back the remainder of my money I will have to start a new claim from the very beginning! I started this claim at the start of Dec as it is. The Reps attitude was aggressive with me and she told me this is a new ruling from the Office of Fair Trading. If I write saying I accept this offer “without prejudice” and will pursue for the remainder it will not make any difference.

    Is she mis-informing me?

The second time I rang, a different rep told me that Abbey will be sending the £633 to me through the post, and that it is my money. I was then advised to ring Abbey and I have been all afternoon and the line was engaged full time and then you get cut off after about one minute. This is storming high quality customer service!

I need some funds to pay the court fees so that I can take Abbey to court.

Can any of you out there kindly advise? The point is, for Abbey to pay £633 there must be an advantage to them or some kind of trick. And does anyone know where this £633 will end up? I hope all of you get your money back, keep at it. Abbey is really doing my head in now.
I was offered a refund for £265 as a gesture of goodwill from they Abbey. They owe me a total of £852. When i tried to decline this offer they refused to take the money back. I did not start a new claim i wrote a letter saying that i was not satisfied with their response and that i intend to claim the full ammount i then gave them 7 days to respond b4 i started the court process. The Abbey have now filed a defence and i am now waiting for a court date
must admit scary stuff but fingers crossed. good luck with urs
