Anyway, can I still make use of this Adapter thingy? Will it only work for Sky customers?

    Many thanks in advance.

    Mark

I believe you would only get BBCiplayer if you don't subscribe to Sky.

That would suit me. On the assumption that I would be able to use any of the free to air channel online services I think it's still a cracking deal.

So, thanks Jag, I'm going to buy one and let you all know how it goes.

    Peace, love and sherbert saucers.

Im really annoyed with sky because I had sky plus box for 4 years plus now and wanted to upgrade my box so i can get ondemand. They said i had to pay £200 for a new box plus installation. theres no way im going to do that so i cant get services other people can

Get a HD Sky + box off ebay. It's a straight swap over of connections and a quick call to Sky to pair the box with your card. Look for the Amstrad DRX890 to ensure it will do ondemand and search locally to avoid postage. Mine cost me £11.

Rats! The site won't let you buy unless you are already a Sky customer. I guess I'll have to get one another day.

    Boooo!
  • Have ordered one. Thanks for this.

Sorry if a stupid question- but how do you actually buy it on the link posted?
    Thank you
  • I played hell with them saying that the on demand service was advertised when i signed up! I was left with my telephone line installed on one side of my house and the HD box the other... My friends had theirs put in the same side with no use for this bridge.

I believe that if you pay for SKY HD you should have this box for free as it would be part of the package!

I played up and got this for free and was notified that they are upgrading these boxes in Nov 2012 to a new model and would i like to wait for one. Hence why these are being sold off cheap...

My advice is that if you have HD and a plus box you could get this for free if you play up a bit...
  • I have a thompson sky+ box so from what i gather it's not compatable plus my broadband is only around 2Mb speed otherwise i would've considered the wireless offer at £9-99.
