Reclaim Unfair Bank Charges Discussion Area

Hi all
I am in the process of gathering info to claim my charges however, I am concerned that the bank will withdraw my overdraft facility. My charges wont cover the cost of my overdraft and I have no other means to pay them off.
The banks in question are Lloyds & Barclays
Can anyone advise whether they have / can do this?
Many thanks0 -
Hi,
firstly,
i have 2 current accounts with NatWest, both of which have incurred unfair bank charges. I wish to claim these back, will i have to do each account seperatley (& have to pay £10 for the requests of unfair charges for each account) or can i list both accounts on one letter & just pay £10.
Secondly,
one of the accounts is overdrawn & i'm fully expecting them to close the accounts & demand back any outstanding overdraft, whats the worst that can happen if i can't pay the amount owed in one go & at what stage are they likely to close the accounts if they are going to?
Cheers

Hi!
I have been claiming from Capital One myself and the address I have been dealing with from the beginning is:
Capital One Bank
PO Box 5283
Nottingham
NG2 3YJ
Don't know about Tesco though. Is there not an address on your statements0 -

Thanks for the address.
These are closed accounts and don't have the statements anymore but have been advised to request for my statements.
Thank you0 -

Just had a quick look on the Tesco website for you and the address on there is:
Tesco Personal Finance,
PO Box 104010,
George House,
36 North Hanover Street,
Glasgow,
G1 2YF
I am sure if you send your letter there they should be able to help you or pass your letter to the correct department.
I'm also claiming for closed accounts at the moment and didn't have any statements, account numbers etc so I just listed all my previous addresses and included my DOB in the letters and I have had some replies so just make sure you include as much information as possible.
Good luck0 -
Am currently in the process of trying to recoup 2,850 pounds of charges for the last 6 years on the advice of my brother-in-law who attempted to recoup 700 and got 390, both cases are via Barclays. The bank themselves have been swift to respond to my letter [even returning my 10 pound "admin" cheque] and Ireceived statements this morning.HOWEVER, to my amazement I also received copies of statements for a gentleman in Leeds which obviously gave me his account number and sort code as well as his incoming/outcomings for the last 2 months!!! bank security eh.............!!!??
Anyone got any advice/comments???0 -
Schedule of Charges
Hi
Just completeing this for my first claim vs hsbc, do I need to include the last column, (no.of days since offence), and if so, why is it relevant?
Thanks!0 -
Right, just completed my letter and interest calculation and it's going in the post right now. That interest calculator programme is excellent - many thanks to whoever is responsible. And claiming the interest really does make a difference. My total charges are £3,400+ and with interest this rises to over £4k.
Hubby waiting for his statements - he's been made redundant today after 10 years so every penny really does count.
Next onto my daughter - HSBC really caned her for a number of years.0 -
Read the last page of the Success stories earlier and had to laugh out twice, I was so surprised:
Post 1162, pigginsexy got charges without asking for them back simply by requesting statements, and they sent her the statements enclosing a cheque for the total amount of her charges!!!!
Post 1167, Bexter asked for £100 and got £200 just like that!!
I mean WOT? Are we finally wearing the banks down? Or are those just the few exceptions where banks can't even be bothered anymore to pretend to put up a fight?
Anyway, I think this is cause for celebration. £300,000 and counting!!Reclaimed thanks to this site:
£175 Abbey Mortgage Repayment Fee, £170.03 Capital One Bank Charges £418.07 Lloyds TSB Bank Charges, £2,671.55 Mis-sold Endowment Policy, all for OH0
