Having read Martins articles about bank charges, I am still unsure about the successfulness OR NOT of taking on the Credit Card people. Could someone please advise?
Thanks

The process works against credit card companies exactly the same as with bank accounts. The CC companies are paying out in the vast amjority of claims. How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

2 quick questions if I may:
1. my boyfriend and I are claiming charges from our joint account. What should we put in the claimant box on the moneyclaim form? Both names in one box or just one?
2. in the particulars of claim box I cut and pasted the sample from Martin but it was too many characters. Which bits is it ok to get rid of.
Thankyou0 -

I have two credit card accounts with Capital One, firstly they told me that
I was aware of the terms & conditions when I signed with them in 1999. I
informed them of CC action unless they replied in seven days to my letter
dated 27th January. Yesterday, 5th February I received letters from both accounts dated 31st January, offering me the difference between the 'agreed OFT recommended' figure of £12 and the charges of £18-£20 they actually
charged me. Their maths isn't very good in their offer letter, one account I am
claiming £690 they are offering me £126. I have decided to decline this offer
on the grounds that their charges are unlawful in any event, it is therefore
onto the interest calculator to make my claims through the courts.0 -

I got this same reply from capital one saying they would offer me the difference. I sent them a letter back saying I did not accept their offer however, i would settle if they offered me £200 as opposed to their £100 offer or I would take them to court to claim the full amount back plus interest. They've got 5 days left to reply....;)0 -

Just carry on and send your next letter when your first deadline is up.How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

Hi there,
Thanks to the success stories on this forum, I've decided to try and reclaim some of the extortionate charges the Ulster Bank have levied against me over the last 6 years. I know I didn't operate my account well, but every time I was down, their charges made things worse.
My question is, with the Ulster Bank being part of the Natwest group, is there a separate Data Protection Administrator address for the Ulster Bank, and what is it, or do I write to the Natwest guy to get my list of charges over the last 6 years?
