You'll find a list of what you can and can't claim in the Reclaim Help Thread which is linked in my signature along with FAQ.

    Hi there everyone
I have just had pages of charges I have paid over the last six years sent to me from my bank after sending off the first template letter the three charges throughout the pages are;-
    overdraft interest
    account charge
    overdraft excess fee

does anyone know if I can claim any of these back been on the what you can claim back pages on this website still confused !!!!!!!!

    please help

    Hi Roxy,
    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=407603

read the thread above, it tells you what you can claim for & wot not.
You can't claim for overdraft interest which was charged to your account, but you can claim interest at 8% on all the charges you can claim for.
Use Martins calculator in the main article on the home page, it's about half way down., you put in the date of the charge, how much the charge was & it works out the interes for you, you then add it to to the list, you can print it out, or copy & save a copy in excell, or both!!
Make sure you read the main article a good couple of times,(print it off, it's always good to have a copy you can refer to, easier than swopping from 1 screen to another on your pc) it gives you all the timings of when to send letters & all the template letters you need.
Good luck & keep at it, someone will always be able to help you, i know as i've had some valuble help & answers from all the great people on here claiming their money back

1 other thing, always send your letters by recorded delivery, you can then check online at the royalmail web site track & trace service when the letter was delivered, & also get a copy of the signature, that way they can't say they have never recieved them.

Oh, & write on the little orange slip wot letter it was for, as you will collect a few of them, & you then know wot ones they are for.

This has been going on since February 15th.
I have finally got my court date which is 17th August (they obviously very busy).

Has anyone had any dealings with HSBC at this stage.
When can I expect them to give in and pay up?

I am claiming for £3666 (inc interest) + £220 court costs + daily interest at 68p per day!

D & G Solicitors asked me for a breakdown months ago, but have never got back to me?

    Thankyou
Hi - how do you calculate the daily interest? I am in the same boat as you but for £8300 (including interest and court fee)

Take your original claim figure (not including interest or any fees) and multiply it by 0.00022.

    See this link :-

After writing to the first direct re charges of £1,300 we were offered £1,150 which we accepted.

We have now sent 3 letters to Natwest and this morning received a letter from them offering £2,800 less the £300 interest which we are going to accept, but that account was closed last year and they have said on the offer that they will pay it into the closed account!!!! What use is that?

Does anyone know can we say we want it paid into another account or want it in a cheque???

As said before the bank does not know what the right is doing from the left

Write to them confirming that your account is closed and advise them that you will only accept their offer if you receive a cheque in the post made payable to yourself.
