    Hello everyone

I am new to the boards this is my very first message so please excuse me if I do anything wrong! (actually its my second because i somehow managed to post this the first time on "HSBC Merged"! lol) I have written to Abbey with my list of charges totally £1424.00 over a six year period. They have replied to me within 10 days saying that my case is being looked into and may take 4 weeks to reply, "sorry your unhappy about the charges, they're not unlawful etc". Are they trying to stall me or is this a normal response.

I am very nervous about threatening court because knowing my luck over the past 5 years, (divorce, a year off work with depression, losing my family home and the list goes on) it will end up going to court and I am afraid I will lose. Please can someone advise me what I should do next. Thank you in advance.

    hi everyone,

i wrote to RBS requesting my statements of an account i opened in my maiden name. The account is now closed and has been sold to capquest debt recovery as there is an outstanding balance on it.

They have replied (and returned my cheque) saying that i need to go to the bank where i opened my account to inform them of my change of name and address!! I opened the account in Coventry whilst i was studying there, and i now live in Derbyshire.....would i not be able to do this at my local branch in Derbyshire??

Also, i have just realised that i didn't date any of the letters i sent requesting my statements......do i need to re-send?? although i have made a note in my diary of when the banks 40 days are up, but they could turn around and say they haven't recieved them?? Is it worth me ringing the banks to ask, or should i leave it??

    Any help is much appreciated

Hi, just wondering if anyone can help me at all, I have added up my toyal charges online (5 years) do you claim for overdraft excess fees ? Also when I send the letter to them later on today asking for the money, do I send that to the local branch or to the head office 25 Gresham Street as I'm with Lloyds TSB ?????

Thanks in advance for your help

I have filed a claim against HSBC on Moneyclaim - they have replied that they intend to defend - thus given them 28 days until judgement, rather than 14 days. The judgement date is up midnight tonight.
How would I know if they had filed their defence? I have not received any documentation from them.
    What is my next step?????????

Im in the same position as you. Just play the waiting game and check the moneyclaim website to view any changes to your court case.
If nothing has happened at the end of the alloted time, then you can enter a judgement against the bank.
You wildays.l probably get an offer or full payment from the bank close to the end of the 28 days

I sent my request to my local bank office, they then forwarded it onto another office that dealt with customer relations. Address it to the bank manager and send it recorded delivery (important).
I cant believe that it has been 40days and still no statements. I got mine from my online banking. Can you go instore and get them printed off for you?
Start chasing them for the statements.

I did mine to head office, I think you have to use the head office when doing your claim to court?

Either is good. I sent mine to the local branch and it got processed.

Just a quick update for those banking with halifax I originally requested my statements back in December waited 40 days and nothing rang them up and they were pretty useless. Anyway was sick of waiting so went into the branch. Statements arrived one week to the day and didn't cost a penny :T

Anyway yesterday on returning home I finally recieved my charge details from my request back in december.

So in short if you bank with halifax save yourself time and money go into the branch to order your statements
