I have read different stories, with different outcomes for the same banks. When you return the second letter with the amount requested to your branch, is it thebranch Manager's discretion to repay this or does it all go via Head Office????????

Have not got as far as that yet with BOS. Sent of letter one, but not had chrages list back yet. How long did they take to reply at this stage to you? You will have to check, but I would assume that maintenance charges are unclaimable, if this is a monthly charge due to admin.
  • thanks,

i sent out a letter and cheque for my statements for 5 years and i got them within about a week.. was not expecting them so quickly.

About to recorded letter for my claim. just wanted to check on these maintenace charges. I noticed on Martins list of what u can and cant it says service charge. i can only asume its the same thing.

i wrote to the BOS in South Clerk Street edinburgh.

I am just about to send a letter reclaiming my charges plus interest to Barclays. Do I send it to my branch or head office?

Hi I hand posted my 1st letter last friday through the branch letter box addressed to the Branch Manager, have recieved letter back today saying that they are looking into my comments and will endeavour to do so within my time limit but cannot guarantee this.
So if no reply by next friday will be hand delivering second letter through branch letter box.

Reply didn't come from branch though!

    Good luck :D
 ITS A FAR BETER THING I DO NOW THAN I HAVE EVER DONE BEFORE

When it comes to issuing the letter for charges (listed), can this be delivered to the local banch and obtain a signature from them when you drop it by hand, or is it best to send to your branch??
