Thanks to help from this site I managed to reclaim my charges:

    Lloyds TSB
    950 pounds
    950 pounds

Took a while but I managed to get my charges back, about 6 weeks in total.
But the best thing is that they offered me 750 - which i accepted, but two weeks later they sent me another letter saying that they dont usally pay back charges but on this occasion they are going to offer me another 200 pounds, I think they may have got a little confused! I also got my sister to do it and she had her charges in a week! :rotfl: ! more fool them for sending me two payments!

    Do it reclaim the charges!!!!!

    Thanks Martin!:money:
could you please help me as i am having trouble with tsb and am about to start court letters i am from scotland does this make a diffrence

Hi awhite, I have asked BOS to refund charges (though not at the court stage yet) I phoned the Financial Ombudsman Service to ask them for a contact address, and they were very helpful, telling me to post my letter asking for charges to be refunded and advised that they would also write to the bank, advising that they were aware of the claim. Perhaps if you give them a ring they would give you advise.

hi Martin / whoever can help!
i received lloyds tsb statement entries back today and have been looking through them to try and calculate charges to move to the next step but it has confused me with how they have classed things i.e i asked for my unlawful penalty charges - they have sent me back 20 pages spanning over 6 years which contain - account fees which i think i cant claim for??
Also overdraft interest classed as charges, and overdraft excess fee why have they sent me these are they what i need and if so in specific which ones can i claim for beacause their terms dont tally with yours this is how they have presented them to me

    10/06/2002 CHG O/DRAFT INTEREST £12.50DR
    10/06/2002 FEE ACCOUNT CHARGE £4.00DR
    09/07/2002 CHG O/DRAFT INTEREST £12.44DR
    09/09/2002 CHG O/DRAFT EXCESS FEE £20.00DR
    THE LIST CONT...

OF WHICH OF THESE CAN I CLAIM BACK OR CAN I CLAIM ALL OF THEM I AM CONFUSED!!!!
PLEASE HELP ME I AM IN NEED

I'd hazard a guess that all those with either "charge" or "chg" are charges which you can claim for with the exception (I think and I hope someone will correct me if I'm wrong) of the overdraft interest UNLESS the overdraft was as a result of the other bank charges. If the overdraft was partly due to bank charges then you'd have to work out how much interest was paid on those charges.

the only reason i was confused was that because i had sent Martins draft letter asking for all penalty charges they sent these in return. Thanks again for your prompt reply it is much appreciated.
  • the letter from the bank reads as follows !!!!!!

i refer to your recent request for copies of your statements on your account to enable you to reconcile your bank charges. Please find enclosed details of charges going back to the date you opened your account, or the first september 2001 whichever date is most recent if there is no charges for a certain period then charging details will not be included.

You may now wish to proceed with your claim for reimbursements of charges but if you feel you need further statements this will take longer to access the archives. blah blah blah.
So what do you guys think claim the lot or just decifer which ones i should claim for.
    Still not 100%
    thanks

Personally I'd go for the lot. If the bank want to dispute any of it and it ends up going to the MCOL stage (which chances are it will) then it'll be up to them to state which part they're disputing and why they're disputing it. But that's just my opinion. On the other hand if you don't want to mess about trying to work out which bit of the overdraft interest is as a result of the charges then leave that bit out. You could always say in further correspondence that you've done it as a gesture of goodwill. :rotfl:
  • Personally I'd go for the lot haha lol i think i will :T
  • is anyone online and able to give me some advice as a bank employee?

I am from Scotland and I am claiming against Bank of Scotland I have got as far as sending the second letter and got a reply back telling me that I have to give them 4 weeks to deal with my complaint I now need to send the third letter but the sample letter says county court name but we don't have county courts in Scotland what do I put in it place?

Or should I give them the 4 weeks to see what they come back with?
