I have a catalogue with Choice for You which is under the Littlewoods Shop Direct Group and until now all the literature has come from Littlewoods ie copy statements. They didnt reply at all to my first letter so off went second. I have received a response to my second letter but its from Shop Direct Financial Services who say they are investigating my complaint and will contact me once its been looked into but no timescale.
Shop Direct Financial Services must be the ones that provide the credit. Now its time to start MCOL I dont know which company to put down as the defendant. Littlewoods or Shop Direct!!
Any ideas?0 -

I sent a letter for my other half to a company called First National Tricity Finance.
Years ago he had bought some furniture on a finance deal. He missed some payments on this but eventually got it paid off.
When I mentioned about banks charges etc, he mentioned this account but he wasn't even sure if he had been charged anything on it. So I sent a letter to them in January reuqesting a list of charges because it was already closed/paid off, he had nothing to lose.
We had not reply after the 40 days so I sent them another letter giving them 7 days or I was going to report them.
Still no reply so I reported them to the IC.
Today he has received a letter from them with a list of charges and the charges come to over £200. He couldn't believe it.
So sending the letter off tomorrow requesting the money back.
If anyone else had finance deals like this, its worth checking you haven't been charged on them...;)0 -
Hi,
I have written several times to Capital one and still didnt get any details on the amount of money i had paid out over the last 6yrs. I called customer services and they couldnt or wouldnt tell me the value but did tell me the amount of times my Credit Card went over the the limit etc so i used an educated guess and came up with £800 so i wrote back and told them about customer services there initial charges and how i came up with the figure. I also said unless they contested this sum i will go to court for that amount. I gave them 14 days then another 7 days. i took them to court. They entered a defence and paid out £690 claiming that £800 wasnt the correct figure and that they repaid the correct figure back, so now they are will to go to court to say i was incorrect about the money claimed. Part of me is happy i got some money but why wait until court proceedings to tell me the right figure. Question is can i go to court claiming how/why i estimated showing them Capital one didnt argue the fact before.....basically embarrassing them!!!0 -
Hve completed steps 1 & 2...received from Abbey today a letter with a complaints form included. I am expected to fill this form in and send back to their banking specialist team.
To quote them..."I know it is important to you that we resolve your complaint quickly, but we want to complete a thorough investigation and sometimes this can take time. If we have contacted you *before then*, we will write to you in four weeks to let you know what is happening" note the *before then* when I don't know, there is no time scale.
Hving read all I can on the bank charge sites, I hvn't come across this before and think it is a delaying tactic.
Should I write back to them, though I hve no intention of filling this from in and tell them I'm taking legal action?
Also as a matter of interest, they charged me £32 for a letter, yet for £10 I received 20 back-dated statements.0 -
Hi All
I am a Woolwich account holder suing for over £7000 before interest with a couple of queries re possible responses from Barclays who are defending as owners of Woolwich.
My second court notice has just arrived saying Barclays are defending my claim. I am now a a little confused on two points.
1. The original file date was 21st March as Serving date with response due by 5th April. Barclays responded on 5th and the new court notice says they have 28 days from date of service to file a defence. Am I correct understanding that means from the 21st March - the 18th April?
2. As Barclays did not own Woolwich for three of the six years can claim they are not liable for the older 3 years charges? I am just tryimg to cover all bases before we get to court.
Thanks for your help.

Wait 14 days after sending your second letter. If they do not pay up the file a claim."He's a maniac, maniac that's for sure,
He will kill your cat and nail him to the door"
