i started small claims proceedings against my bank on 9th of march it was acknowleged, they ticked the box saying they would defend all of the claim but does that buy them extra time, because its been 28 days since the claim they have done this and i cant enter judgement yet but the time has elapsed, can anyone help me with any information?? thanks0

Hi, I`ve just realised the RBS have been charging me to withdraw money from my savings account. Apparently i can only withdraw so many times without being charged. Does anyone know if this is legal, or are they worth trying to reclaim? Anyone know?

A strange thing has happened!
I am in the process of court proceedings with barclays and the last date for their response was the 7th april. On the 7th i had received no letter from the bank and went to check my online statements where barclays had paid a good will gesture of £525? My original claim was £595 they offered me £445 but by this time i'd already started with the courts and paid a £80 fee. wrote to the bank declining there offer.
Im happy with money i received but just find it all very strange from the bank as not had a letter or any form of contact from the bank the money just appeared. If i had not checked my statement i would still not have known!
Now im left with what shall i do next? If im to stop mcol not sure how? Im just not sure as this money wasn't offered just paid to me which i suppose has been done so i settle with it (which i think i will) - just all very odd!
Has anyone else had this experience?0 -

Hi, i'm new here and just getting familiar with this site.
I have repeatedly asked for my statments, however, my bank keep saying they will charge me 5pounds for everyone.I have sent the Data Protection Act letter about my right to receive this data, but only pay the statutory charge of 10pounds,however, they keep saying they will be happy to supply these, but again for 5pounds each one. I need to send another type of letter to enforce them to,but i'm not sure what to say.Can anyone guide me please.Thankyou.0 -
Hi there
I'm new to this post and have been reading through all your excellent advice and help! Apologies if i'm asking something that has been recently addressed.
I'm with Lloyds TSB and have writen my first letter to them using Martin's template. They have replied basically saying that
" ...we make extra charges for extra services when customers don't have enough money in their accounts to cover a payment"
and
"...the charges applied for are not "default" charges but charges for dealing with (my) request to go over an agreed overdraft limit".
I applied for unpaid S/O charges and excess overdraft limit charges - are these not covered? At no point did I request my bank to charge me £30 to pay a pre-set stnading order from my account.
Are they fobbing me off? Should I go to the next letter stage or will I get nothing from them?
Any advice would be gratefully appreciated.

can I claim my overdraft interest - Myself and my husband have a authorised overdraft for which we pay a yearly fee we also pay a monthly account charge payment - although the overdraft is authorised are we able to claim back the high interest charges that we have been charged each month.0

losh99,I have had the same letter. Apparently it is standard, so carry on regardless!! Just another letter to put you off. Keep going, you are claiming for the right things;)0

Can anybody help please?
I have had my claim from Lloyds TSB for nearly 5K in the court process and have filed an Allocation Questionaire at my local court. *(heard nothing from them since defence filed)
My question however is: Since I started my claim I have had £660 of further charges, I know I cannot add these to the claim but can I start the process again for the £660.
Anyody else been here?0 -

Hi Stardelight
Did you use the letter from this site? If not, you need to dowload the 1st letter (see homepage/ reclaim your bank charges section). They can charge you £5 for your statements, but on the template letter you are asking for a list of charges, no statements - although that is what you ususaly get.
