Hi all,
Does anyone know if I can reclaim charges from a closed account or account that has been put through to debt collections with Natwest? These charges totl a small fortune but I dont want to waste my time!!
Advice needed!!!
yes you can claim if the account is closed or with a DCA as long as it is not over 6 years as they have at some point put these charges on your account
Halifax request for refund sent 30/3 (not received)
Barclaycard requested list of charges sent 30/3 (received 2/4)
Natwest requested list of charges sent 30/3 (received 2/4)
Halifax CC requested list of charges sent 30/3 (received 2/4)
Barclaycard requested list of charges sent 4/4My Mission today is to have an opinion on everything.
If you don't like it well you will just have to lump it!0 -
Hi have had some success the Woolwich owe me £1320 they have paid back 350 over the last six years they now offer me £545, not sure what to do next do i carry on or be greatful for this
I would carry on and get it all back if you read through the success stories the banks always settle before it goes to court start as you mean to go onMy Mission today is to have an opinion on everything.

I got the last 6 years statements. I added up all the charges made - £1200 and sent the Halifax a letter saying that unless I had a refund within 14 days I would take them to court. I cobbled up my letter using a mixture of Martin's template & the other sites he mentioned. They acknowledged my letter but said it would take 8 weeks to investigate. So after 14 days (as threatened) I used the online Moneyclaim site for the Small Claims Court. I also worked out how much interest they owed me and claimed that too. I paid £120 in charges. I had a letter last week from Halifax,(without admitting liability) saying that they would credit my A/c with £1200 + £250 interest + £120 court fees. They admitted that it would cost them money to defend the claim and it would be unlikely they could recover these costs even if they won. Total capitulation. Don't have any doubts about doing the same thing, it's your money (unlawfully taken) and it's worth it.0

hello folks,
i'm in the process of reclaiming money off barclays. i've sent off the letter requesting my statements/charges, this was 2 weeks ago. can anyone give me an idea of how long they are likely to take in sorting this out? there's likely to be quite a bit of money involved, as my case relates to our joint account...my partner worked away alot between 2000-2005, and so he often wasn't around to put the money in on time. i lost count of the amount of times his money going in crossed with stuff going out-sometimes only by a matter of hours. i don't think a month went by without us getting charged something...i think the low point was when we had a 3-month run, where we got charged about £180 a month because of either going over the o/d limit or them chucking stuff out because of this....so you can probably guess from that that they owe quite a bit!! any ideas?0 -

I hand delivered my letter requesting statements 19/02/07 got them on 12/03/07 in a battered torn envelope so the postie could see my financial state. They didn't cash the cheque until a few days ago. Dont worry too much, you'll get them in the end, hopefully you sent them recorded as CH said.0 -
