    Hi everybody

I have read the article that relates to all this after my mother-in-law told me about this chance to reclaim charges. But she told me that I would need to send my bank a letter before April '07.

I do not have any old statements & would need to request the last 6 years worth before making a claim. Can someone please tell me if I have left this too late now to get the money back? because I am certain I'm due at least £2,000 back.

Thanks in advance for any advice

    Dave

I am assuming here but I think your mother-in-law may be referring to the OFT announcement with regard to bank charges that was due in april. This would not have affected your ability or right to claim and has been put on hold. Further information is in the thread here :

It is not too late at all to reclaim and you are positively encouraged to do so. Good luck :)
  • Hi I have added up the charges from the halifax from my 2 account (one which is now closed) they add upto £2442.50 ,do I add Interest onto that now or do I just ask for the charges back. I have also included a list of charges and copies of my statement with the charges on is that all I have to do for now.

Also can you ask for charges back for business accounts?????

I received a letter after 40 days exactly from 1st letter saying that my list of charges has been ordered and if I have not heard within 21 working days I should call I called and asked why they hadn't sent them out within the 40 days and it was an answer machine which said anyone waiting for statements should receive them within a couple of days are they are really busy but if I wanted a reply then leave my name number etc which I did what should I do now just wait or are they in the wrong as this is could be another month before I hear anything please any information would be of help thank JH

40 days is up for Barclaycard to send me my statements on Saturday even though they cashed the £10 cheque 3 weeks ago. If I complain to the commissioner do I just then wait until something happens?

    Hi J66hob

I'm by no means an expert but I think the people who are would advise you to stick to your timeframes! Martin's advice on the main web page states to report them to the information comissioner for a breach :D

I sent my allocation questionnaire back after Barclays put in a defence and I just sent the charges calculator with it. Is this right or should I have sent the letters that I have sent Barclays?

I have 2 schedules ... the initial spreadsheet I produced from bank statements, showing date/reason for charge/actual charge (without interest) which I've sent to the bank and one I've produced since using Martin's calculator showing interest. Should I send both with the Allocation Schedule, or just the one showing interest?

    Thanks.
