Isn't it curious how there seems to be alot of people now reporting full refunds from Barclaycard?

Anything to do with a certain Whistleblower maybe?!

i have sent my first letter at the end of last month and sent it recorded delivery ( which is a good idea as stuff tends to go missing, by accident of course) any way my 40 day period for them to send my charges thru was 11th April 2007. As yet i havent heard a thing so i thought and charming and pleasant phone call wud do the trick. I rung Halifax Head office up for my branch to contact.......Halifax didnt ring so i rang again yesterday, Head office said they wud send another email for local branch to contact me

Today i received a phone call from Halifax, spoke to woman at branch chased up my query and guess what no knowledge of letter.

But id sent it recorded and i also had times dates and copies of everything i'd done she soon backed down and phoned customer relations for me. Got a phone call back and hey presto they had email her all of my charges for free! picked them up and calculated 3237 or 4100 ish with interest.

Letter and list of charges with interest is now on its way from local branch and recorded delivery to be on safe side.

It just goes to show be prepared, wait and be patient and be nice to them even if they have shafted you plus a friendly phone call otherwise id be still waiting!!!!!!

Fingers crossed i hope i regain some money

Barclaycards letter already sent as well
    MBNA sent as well
Local membership firm letter sent claiming for them taking 3 d debits out 3 days early so im claiming charges back twice lol from bank and them as well

and all monies received will contribute to existing debts and pay them off

Jense why they have started a full scale advertising campaign, to offset loses generated through people watching the programme (in my opinion)

    I have a serious question.

I was 17 yr old (too young for an overdraft) and I withdrew more money from my account than i had. Now since starting to reclaim my bank charges. I have noticed that charging a 17 yr old unauthorised overdraft fees is probably illegal. If this is the case does anyone have any advice for me. In how to use this info in my favour???

    Regards
    Stuart
  • Is there a way I can persuade the Alliance and Leicester to keep my account open? The Alliance and Leicester have said that they are going to close my account - I recently successfully reclaimed my bank charges - no more than four hundred pounds. I think I have missed something as the letter says that I do not accept the terms and conditions of my account and they are going to close my account in 30 days!! AAArgh Also If have to change accounts where do I look for the best Isa in which to transfer my funds - the ones on the site Ive seen seem to be for new customers and won't accept funds from other accounts - Thanks

I have just done my MCOL claim online now to HSBC, as no joy from the 1st 2 letters & it should be served on them by next Friday 30th March at the latest (I think?!).

If my MCOL claim has been served on them before any OFT changes (due end March), will my claim for the full amount + interest be more likely to be sucessful?

Am I also to be encouraged to MCOL claim to Morgan Stanley & Capital one ASAP, even though the 1st letters with copy of charges & interest only got sent 1st class today?

Thanks in anticipation of replies ..... :rotfl:

Its unlikely to make any difference to your claim as it is now through the court system however don't rush these new claims straight to court as you must give the banks/cc companies the due time to respond to your claims.

As for accepting 'terms and conditions' you were not aware at the time that the charges quoted therein were unlawful and they are committing an offence with the level of charging at present. Feel free to quote that in any correspondence.

Write and advise them that closing the account will result in complaint to the Financial Ombudsman and you will be further eligible for compensation.
