Thanks for the reply Edinburghlass.
I will send the appropriate 2 letters to Capital One & Morgan Stanley as per the advice.
HSBC have had the appropriate letters, with no response, so I have just by-passed the 'will start Court proceedings if no reply within 14 days ....' & done it today!
It seems quite a few have gone the same route, but was enquiring specifically regarding the OFT changes.
Thanks again*Helen*

14 days ago requested a refund of charges from first direct for £865 (that includes the interest )today recieved an offer of £600 as full payment. Is this a good offer and should I accept it or carry on with my claim? thanks for any opinions.0

Personally, I would hold out for the lot. If they're prepared to pay £600 I reckon they would pay the lot. Even if you start a court claim, others have claimed in full plus costs.0 -
Hi I need some advice. im new to the threads so i hope i have got the right place to ask. i am following the steps to claimimg back bank charges. i am just aboutto sent my second letter and have a feeling i read somewhere on this site that it should be sent to head office rather than my local branch. is this correct does anyone know?0

Posted earlier and disapeared into the undregrowth! Didn't realise how many people are in the same boat!
I've sent my first letter claiming for two accounts, included a tenner for each account, should have read more of the site.
I've now received 12 months worth of statements for one account but nothing else. Should I wait untill the end of the 40 days or phone the bank and pester?
£1900.00 on the first 12 months statements I might add.
Anyone got any ideas?0 -
hi iam am no expert but i sent one letter for four acconts. I got all 4 accounts statements back in different envelopes and spilt years in separate envelopes. i would wait, the remaining statments are probably on the way0
