We had a funeral to go to today. Everyone got up, showered, ate and left the house. I just invited neighbour in for some eggs and I was ashamed. Every single surface in lounge, hall, kitchen and dining room covered in things dumped either this morning or last night after I went to bed. DSs cleaned bathrooms yesterday for me so today I have to do computer desk area in lounge and the worst room of all play room/office/craft room/spare room. In other words dumping ground for everything. I think I will do 15 minutes then get DSs to do 15 minutes each. Right must get off here and go flying with DS3 as assistant!business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

Cheeky DH, am a bit angry with him.
I was cleaning last night while he was watching the simpsons and he got all stressy with me and told me I was doing too much and will wear myself out.
Funny that he didn't think I was working too hard when I made his dinner, washed the dishes and washed, dried and folded all of his work clothes. Not to mention that this house is practically spotless all of the time now. Only when I interrupt his precious TV programme does he think to mention anything.:rolleyes:0 -

maralum give him a swift kick from me, I'd have put the vacuum cleaner on :rotfl: I have a partner the same, says 'Why don't you sit down' (usually when he's watching something etc) my reply 'because I'll only have it to do when I get up' he shuts up at this point knowing I am right. If he says 'Well I'll do it later' I know 10 years down the line he won't.
Lou with work, I don't do paid work but a lot of voluntary inc at the school and when I am out a lot I aim to get 20 mins done morning before I go and at least 20 minutes when I get back. Doesn't always get everything done every day, but saves the build up that used to happen. No longer have to spend all day on a weekend doing what hasn't been touched. I'll be honest, having more time makes me lazy, I get it done easier and quicker when I am out for a huge amount of the day as I know I have very little time, rather than thinking 'I'll do it later'.
Night time routines I find vital, sorting out clothes, bags etc the night before for me and the boys aswell as a quick tidy and putting whatever I need for the next days tasks in the room before bed - duster, window cloth, vacuum cleaner etc. If it's the kitchen the next day the grill pans in the bath before bed etc.
Example this week was busy Wednesday - Wednesday Master Bedroom and Landing - strip bed and clear any clutter, laundry etc as soon as I get up, then dust and clean windows (I take dusters and window cloth up with me the night before) put sheets in wash as soon as I go downstairs with cloths, which is when I then get boys ready, make breakfast, feed dogs and get them out etc, hang out bedding before I leave. Evening gets sheets in (or out of drier if bad weather of course) vacuum bedroom, bed and landing then make bed. I will usually fit the dailies around everything else, wiping over the bathroom when I finish in there on a morning inc bath, sink and loo. Vacuum downstairs when I come down after doing bedroom on this day, kitchen swish and swipe before I leave and before bed. The set list doesn't even take me an extra 20 minutes either side of going out usually.
Well Nurse Practitioner was lovely, she's put me on anti biotics as my glands are up, she thinks I have damaged my throat with coughing so much. I had a nightmare last year with glands they got so big for so long doctors were discussing ssurgery as I couldn't swallow and struggled breathing so pleased tablets as hopefully won't happen again.
Haven't done bad today, got the list done, only left the house to go to appointment as I look like Rudolf because my nose is so red and chapped, plus have a stonking cold sore. Sitting rooms almost finished, need to take a few things upstairs then thats done. Have got dinner dishes, pans etc to wash but will do that soon, needed a sit down.
Oh here's the sods law, Holly stopped coughing not last night but one before, after I made her appointments at vets. So I cancelled appointment for today. This evening, 20 minutes ish ago she's started again!!! Worse than before aswell, so will have to call vets again tomorrow. This time she's going regardless.
Rach have a great timeOne day I might be more organised...........

Evening everyone
Hugs for anyone who needs one or indeed anyone that just wants one!:D
I'm still here - collecting my list for the next day but just not getting the time to post much.
I seem to struggle in the school holidays - Dd only started last september so I'm still getting used to the idea. I'm not too bothered so far this year as I've been, more or less, keeping up with you all so to leave things for a week or two at school holiday time isn't too bad. I'm dreading the summer break though as I'm sure everything I've done up to that point will go to pot! I just want to play with my kids but then I look at the house and feel guilty. I've had my sister on msn asking if I was ok because I looked tired. Just told her I was probably trying to be supermum!:o
How do you all manage? Do you find school holidays as difficult as this?"all endings are also beginnings. We just don't know it at the time..."0 -
HopeEllizzy nice to see you back, I have pressumed many are busy with other things being the hols, aswell as the nice weather. As for holidays, yes a struggle, fitting in vacuuming and anything with strong smells the worst as DS1 can't stand either. I try to still do 30-40 minutes a day then hopefully it won't be as bad as it used to when they return to school because to be honest I'd just get put right and they were off again. I figured 30-40 minutes a day isn't too bad and this is when the electronic babysitters (PCs, TV etc) can earn their money, I gave up being supermum this year and have decided compromise is best way forward. I had been relying on DP to take the kids with the dogs when he went on a morning the first week to get things done, but this week the little tikes haven't wanted to join him so just having to work round it. Then do mad 20 minutes when I put them to bed to get the rest clear if possible. When it's nice outside having motivation to clean inside is almost zero, definately a time I could do with a kick start.
My theory for this summer which will be my first as a Flylady is to work out a schedule. When best to fit things in, DSs like watching Bamzooki at 6pm for example and will not miss me then, in fact I get told 'sssshhhh' when it's on. I am going to see if I can find him some funky ear plugs for vacuuming time and see if he'll wear them. I also plan on having the jobs like sorting cupboards, wardrobes, decorating etc done before the hols so I just have the basics to do. Have tried to do these when they are off and it's not worked well. I've also found still doing nighttime routine helps, then it's easier to get everyone sorted on a morning, including me. I used to do this just during the week when at school but now if I don't do it, it's chaos and I don't end up getting dressed until later etc.
This is my theory, ask me in September if it works :rotfl:One day I might be more organised...........

I work Tues-Thurs so before I started flying a couple of weeks ago I had certain rooms and chores allocated to Mon and Fri. When I returned to work after we adopted our son I was able to have a contract where I don't work the 6 weeks summer holidays. I've found it difficult at times wanting to keep him amused and not getting too fed up when the house starts to become a tip. I just have to keep reminding myself that the house will wait and that I don't get the time with DS being a little boy again.
Hopefully this summer with this method of a little something everyday we'll get the best of both worlds. Only time will tell!
lil_me- hope the anti-biotics kick in quickly and you feel better soon....it is not of more importance than daily life, which I have an enduring wish to make as useful and beautiful as possible.

lil me - glad you've got some meds hope you feel better soon
pig pen - how did it go, I cooked for 6 tonight and had only to 2 lo's to look after and I'm shattered! Hope you enjoyed your day and your hard work
Hugs to everyone else!
Jobs done that HAD to be done before today - finished last night
Nipped to Aldi for bits needed
Dropped clothes off at BHF bin
Done dallies,
Made red lentil and veg puree for baby
Played, fed, etc baby
Cleaned dining carpet
make corn chowder for baby - also did some apple puree whilst I had the stuff out.
Cleaned kitchen
Tidy garage
Put gammon in SC
Stripped off sofa throw, cushions, etc and are now on line
Send Dh up loft to store stuff
Give everywhere a good proper hoover
Clean bathrooms
Change bed - just needs putting on before we get in it
Have had a lovely, if a bit stressful, day playing with DS and little cousin and did a family meal for us. We lost little cousins mum very recently, so sad, but it was lovely to have few of us together for tea even if we did miss her. Got all jobs done yesterday so today was cooking and dallies only, also managed to get for a walk yesterday afternoon with DH, DS and dogs which was nice. Have estate agent round tomorrow and one Sat as just extra hoover and dust (normal S&S will do bathrooms and kitchen as nice and clean and tidy) and then hopefully next week will back to proper flying rountine.
Right, off to read paper at long last!Lightbulb moment 15th Feb 2007:doh: Now Debt Free and plan on it staying that way!
Baby on board!:D0
