Thanks for the idea of putting oven shelves in the bath. I put the filters and front of extractor hood in the bath in washing powder and blimey, they are clean, no scrubbing involved. Now that is the sort of job I can manage. Bath now needs cleaning though, another job for the boys!

    Mixed day here.

Changed the bed and had a general quick tidy round in there. Put away all the gloves, scarves and hats in the wicker hamper on top of my wardrobe as we hopefully won't be needing those again for a while.

Cleaned the outside of the car and had a mini clear up in the shed, more to do tomorrow when I'm feeling slightly more energetic. Not eaten a thing since dry toast at lunch time, fingers crossed it's out of my system whatever nasty I had that has made me feel low today.

DH has taken DS out with him to cricket practise so I have a quiet couple of hours. What to do? Ironing or lounging around:confused: ?
...it is not of more importance than daily life, which I have an enduring wish to make as useful and beautiful as possible.

Great to know that the old bio powder works on the extractor hood too. Mum's place that she rented out has the stinkies extractor hood ever so will give that ago.

Well tea on the go, just the S & S of the bathroom but as DH is having a shower when he gets in he can do that ;) .

Flying seems to have really come together for me over the last couple of weeks and I can honestly say the jobs dont take much time at all now because its just maintaining rather than the constant uphill battle it used to be. So newbies please note it will all be worth it. We all fall off the wagon, we get ill, the kids get ill or even worse the men get ill:eek: so things go pear shape but they never get as bad as they were and once your feeling better it really does not take that long to get on top of things.

Flying really has changed my life, today I got 90% of the things I wanted to do done and so spent the afternoon in the garden with the girls. Pre-flying I would have been running round after my own tail getting nowhere.

So keep taking those baby-steps 'cos each one is a major achievement:T :T !

Pigpen - you truely are wonder woman :A - 8 kids and you still invite extra ones round, I'd be heading for the hills woman :D

Right off to put the steamer on.
  • well I would have fluttered today, if not exactly flown - except 3-yr-old DS1 asked for the vaccuum cleaner - specifically with the brush attachment - to 'clean the hearth, Mummy'..... I now have a vaccuum cleaner clogged up from brush to bag to engine compartment with general dust/dog/cat hair mixed with a lot of woodash (he sucked up all the ash IN the wood-burning stove as well as on the hearth!) but also the entire contents of the dog's water bowl.
It is days like this that being a (successfully recovering) alcoholic is no fun at all... give me drunken New Years revellry to cope with any day...

    Hello all,
I've only just looked at todays list and am sooo glad it's the bedroom- it needs nothing doing whatsoever. It's the one room in the house that I keep tidy all the time. If there's even a stray sock on the floor I have to get out of bed to shift it or I can't fall asleep!

Anyhow, the reason I'm so glad is because I'm still in the kitchen from Tuesday..not literally, that would be plain daft. I soaked my oven shelves in bio powder in the bath before I left for work this morning... Blimey!!! That was a good tip whoever suggested it. I'm starting to worry that I'm getting into this a little too much. .Can I share my dream with you? Well, I dreamt I met a really lovely bloke (I'm single so its allowed ;) ) he said he wouldn't go out with me because I cleaned too much. I told him it was a complete lie because thanks to you lot I've got it down to two hours a week!!

He can take a running jump whoever he was, I'm off to finish my oven. Have a useful evening all.

Pleased those who are using the washng powder in bath trick are finding it useful. It's something my Grandma did years ago and I have done since. Same with the denture tablets, not got false teeth myself but use them for cleaning, fab on cups, net curtains, lists endless. I do know what you mean sometimes doing them in the bath isn't good for the bath, god knws how Grandma managed (should point out she was GREAT Grandma and I last seen her do this when she was 92)

Shells right, all of us find the wagon a little wobbly and get thrown off (even if we can't admit to falling off) sometimes. For me it's the last 2 weeks, DS1 poorly, then DS2 then me, I'm usually the get up and get on with it type but this has really knocked me for 6. I'm irritable and it's taking me all my time just to get motivated. Lists have been done, just, but it's taking me all day to do them sometimes, doing little bits at a time. Hopefully back to feeling well again soon as house is almost at CHAOs stage again (Can't Have Anyone Over)

I did get myself slightly more motivated in the garden today, planted 60 bulbs and 15 ish plants, sorted the side of the pond out etc. Bedroom was done when I got up, stripped the bed as soon as I got out of it, but still waiting to be remade. Landing can get vacuumed tomorrow when do study as can't be bothered now. Still got our dinner to make yet, chicken tikkas marinading now, sheek kebab meat is prepared, spices etc in pan ready to add the rice but still needs finishing. Just fancy eating in peace for a change.

Pigpen hope the party goes well and the weather stays nice for you
Going to do tomorrows list so it'll be up soon :)
One day I might be more organised...........
