I was a stranger to the area working away from home..
Dont remember seeing the camera at all let alone twice.
Just a thought, it might be worth (if you can) going to this camera and making sure that it's clearly visible and signposted. You drive a lot, so maybe there's a good reason you didn't see it twice?I hope you will be fine and not lose your your licence but why do people think that a speed limit is a target?
Drive within the speed limit...
OT, I know, but this is one of the dumbest things I've read in a while...
I know the PC bunch on here aren't going to like this, but the speed limit should be treated as *both* a limit and a target.
The speed limit represents (theoretically - in most cases it's far below) the highest speed at which it's safe to drive along the bulk of a given section of road.
Every driver should make an effort to drive at the highest speed they safely can. This is out of consideration for other road users (who may be running late, or who may just want to make good time on a long journey) and to maintain the flow of traffic.
It's quite reasonable, then, to expect people to travel at the speed limit for the bulk of their journey. Any less is just inconsiderate and ultimately causes jams...0 -
Oh no, travelling well below the limit whilst daydreaming or fiddling with the radio is far safer.Happy chappy0

For the record I have 3 points for speeding, my own fault, held my hands up, paid up and learnt my lesson. Haven't even gone 1mph over the limit since. If you speed you deserve to get caught IMO.
Is that true..?? 1mph..??
ok. angel.. and I hope I can be as good as gold too. BUT.....
howmany miles a day /year do you drive???
Yes i did get caught... and maybe if you did as many miles as me, you wouldve been caught more than once too...
please correct me if you are a long distance driver..
I spend at least half my day..
and in most cases 4/6 hours a day driving, sometimes more... I think I will have to be good as gold for a lot more hours than you...
Again I dont condone speeding.. but the punishment system is flawed and unfair in my opinion.
I just hope I make it..“Careful. We don't want to learn from this.”0 -

The punishment system is flawed. And I don't believe any driver hasn't ever gone 1mph over the limit. Not buying unnecessary toiletries 2024 26/53 UU, 25 IN0 -

Ok maybe saying 1mph was exaggerating a bit but I haven't KNOWINGLY speeded since I got my points. And as for how long you spend driving I don't think it really comes down to that because it doesn't matter if you drive for 10 mins or 10 hours you still shouldn't be speeding!Total 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043

I don't think that is the point they are making, they are making a point that the more one drives, the more one is at risk of being caught speeding. Not buying unnecessary toiletries 2024 26/53 UU, 25 IN0 -
No, the more one speeds, the more chance of being caught speeding. The distance travelled does not change this.0

Trubster, you should be ashamed of yourself- if the local cops recognise you, I hope they throw the book at you- how can you surrender a licence that has been revoked anyway.

So if I am in a 70 mph limit area but feel I can only safely drive at 30 mph that is okay then - by your logic.
I think you may have beaten me on the dumb comments stakesWe all evolve - get on with it0
