it's up to him what he does, who are we to judge?
like I said, give him the info and what he does with it is up to him or isn't it?0 -

but it's not just 3 points is it? it could possibly be his licence and in turn his job and don't tell me what 'we are about here', someone asks for advice, others give it, what people do with that information is up to them and just because you may disagree does not say that my advice is unhelpful that is up to the OP to decide and not you
This isn't about the moral high ground, this is about lousy advice that could potentially have far more serious consequences than 3 points. What you're suggesting is to commit a further offence in an attempt to avoid the original - hardly a sensible option.
As far as I can see, the OP has now accumulated 9 points, which will not cost him his licence or, presumably, his job. I'm simply making the OP aware of exactly what you're suggesting, as your original post was devoid of this information.
There's no need for you to reply to this post, as discussing this with you further is simply not worth my time or trouble. I'm quite sure the OP is quite capable of deciding his most appropriate course of action, given the full facts. :wave:If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -

and if you had read my posts you will see that my work mate has been done and could lose his licence despite not having 12 points
I have given him a solution, you have told him the consequence of taking that solution, the choice is now his, not yours or mine
and don't tell me what I can and can not do MM0 -
YOu say it is all about protecting your job. The best way to protect your job is to not speed and get the points in the first place.
But it's happened now and hindsight is a wonderful thing! Now you have to try and make the best of a bad situation.
You could say you werent driving but then if you are identifiable from the pictures you will look daft and appear to be a liar. I think you need to find out about this number of offences in a period of time that others have mentioned. To be honest ive never heard of it. I hope that you are lucky this time and you dont get stung by that rule if it exists and I hope that you realise how near you may have come to losing your lisence and therefore your job and dont speed again!
BTW I am not preaching, Ive been in the same situation myself (not recently tho)Baby Ice arrived 17th April 2011. Tired.com! :j0 -

well said :T0 -
Pay up and slow down when you go past that camera in future.
Getting done once is unlucky. Twice in the same place and you deserve it for being such a twit.Don't grow up. Its a trap!
Peace, love and labradors!0 -

Thats why it was bad advice, you gave him the option but failed to say the consequences of doing so, so he was never going to get a balanced view without other posters telling him the consequences.0 -

hehee..
I was a stranger to the area working away from home..
Dont remember seeing the camera at all let alone twice.
I know i was speeding... and now I am monitoring myself I am amazed at how often I WAS speeding slightly in low limit areas.
It just seems a little unfair for me to have the threat of lost licence hanging over me because of " events so close together..
now I have received the first notice ,I HAVE slowed down.
But while that was in the post I had already been caught Again..
I thought the idea was to slow people down... not ruin their careers.
That said ,I am in favour of speed limits and as I said I do now realize that most people speed more than they think.. myself included .“Careful. We don't want to learn from this.”0 -

You haven't. You need 12 points in 3 years to be disqualified under the totting-up procedure (unless you're a new driver). Even then, you might get away with it if you could prove exceptional hardship.

Is that info correct though.? (havent had time to read it all yet).
someone else mentioned a change in the law. causing too many points in a short period to lead to a ban ??“Careful. We don't want to learn from this.”0
