Hi everyone..
got another NIP today...
36mph in a 30...
the thing is a few days ago I got another one at the same camera....
37mph..in a 30
It seems I have been caught on 2 mondays in a row..
this will take me up to 9 points (i think) as i already got an avereage speed ticket 6 months ago (45 in a 40..roadworks)..
Any advice appreciated.
I do admit I was speeding. but my job relys on my licenceand I have an unblemished record for 27 years till this year..
Now I have a driving job.(aprox 2000miles a month).
I was wondering..does the law allow you to be nabbed again before they let you know you have been nabbed the first time?.
And should I try fight or just pay up..?

I'm afraid you'll have to pay up Velocity BoyYou'll always miss 100% of the shots you don't take - Wayne Gretzky
Any advice that you receive from me is worth exactly what you paid for it. Not a penny more or a penny less.0 -
get someone else to say they were driving as my work mate, only had 6 points, then got another 3 and has been told that he could lose his licence, he though he was ok as this lot of points would only take him up to 9 points but apparenetly there is a new rule, something about 3 offences within a certain period, I don't know the ins and outs of it but better safe than sorry, do not take those points if you can help it0

Very funny..:rotfl: ..
all 3 tickets only add to 18 mph over... hardly VELOCITY.
But yeah I know i am guilty as charged.. but i gotta protect my job.“Careful. We don't want to learn from this.”0 -

I don't know what you can do in that case but before you sign anything go ans speak to someone who does know the law as I was rather shocked to find that my work mate was in this situation even though he didn't have 12 points
but the other thing is, how would the dvla know that only you can drive the car?0 -

Yeah good point..But I realy dont want to risk getting caught cheating and end up in deeper Doodoo..:A“Careful. We don't want to learn from this.”0 -
Ask to see proof - ie photograph. If it captures you in the car and you say it's not you the least of your worries is another 3 points0

I don't think this is a very helpful post I'm afraid. Advising someone to pervert the course of justice to get out of 3 points isn't exactly what we're about here.shandypants5 wrote:I was wondering..does the law allow you to be nabbed again before they let you know you have been nabbed the first time?.
Did you break the law twice on two separate occasions? I think you know the answer to this one....
I realise it's not what you want to hear, but your best course of action is to ascertain that the tickets have been correctly issued. (Check PePiPoo). Assuming they have, pay up and slow down. Presumably your employer pays you to travel safely from A to B, rather than tear-ar$ing about. Take your time, there's no overtime to be gained by rushing. If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -

is the air thin? do you need breathing apparatus up there on the moral highground
but it's not just 3 points is it? it could possibly be his licence and in turn his job and don't tell me what 'we are about here', someone asks for advice, others give it, what people do with that information is up to them and just because you may disagree does not say that my advice is unhelpful that is up to the OP to decide and not you0 -

In my view this is very stupid advice, as the earlier poster said the offence is perverting the course of justice, an offence that carries a very grave max imprisonment setence if found guilty. Lose job potentially or face a long stint in prison, very difficult decision....not0
