Insurance companies never ask "Are there any points on your licence?". On your insurance form it will ask if you've been convicted in the last six years. If you have and you don't say then not only are you not insured, you're guilty of fraud.
Please don't advocate law-breaking here. It's against forum rules.Can I help?0 -
Depends on the insurer, mine says "Do you have any convictions recorded or pending on your DRIVING LICENSE"
Anyway I am not advocating law-breaking I am exposing a legitimate loophole to get a clean license and it was not intended to evade the insurance cost it was to clear the 9 points on a driving license and prevent a ban if the OP got another ticket.

Go to poland and surrender your licence for a european licence, in UK you can not get points on an EU Licence
I have FoI Response from SY Safety Camera Partnership to say so too! asking how many european drivers have been prosecuted... NONE!!!
I disagree. If the offender has a UK address, he can be summonsed to court to pay a fine. That motoring offence still has to be declared to any insurance company. While it may be true that some forces can't be bothered, it's not true of all...
.....also if a driver cannot furnish credible details at the roadside, then they can be arrested and detained at a Police cell until the next available court for on the spot fines, or imprisonment.NO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!0 -
Pay up and slow down when you go past that camera in future.
Getting done once is unlucky. Twice in the same place and you deserve it for being such a twit.
Get real he's not a twit most people on this thread probably only drive to the shops once a week, if you drive 40k plus a year your chances of getting caught are much higher.0 -

Probably not what you want to hear but if you were caught speeding once you should have learnt your lesson and stopped speeding. The speed limits are there for a reason, they don't just pluck numbers out of thin air. More fool you if you break the law and lose your licence.
Don't want to get points on your licence? DON'T SPEED. Simple as.
For the record I have 3 points for speeding, my own fault, held my hands up, paid up and learnt my lesson. Haven't even gone 1mph over the limit since. If you speed you deserve to get caught IMO.Total 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043

In Jan 05, I was caught speeding twice, by the same camera, 6 days apart.
The fines arrived three days after the second occassion.
I accepted my lot, paid my fines and have six points on my licence.
I felt like the OP does in a way, the injustice of the second fine. If the first fine had been posted out as promptly as the second (3 days instead of 9 days), I may have had the opportunity to correct my behaviour.
Also, our insurance has increased because of these fines, and eventhough they will fall off my licence after 3 years (Jan next year), but still be considered for another year, the insurance company is going to penalise me for 5 whole years.
Speeding costs in more ways than one !!!0 -

They are as good as out of thin air - based on 1950's technology. This means, for example, stopping distances based on tests using cars equipped with wooden wheels coated with teflon.0
