My neighbour got away with it once by saying that during that week, a bloke from Argentina was driving the car and he could get his address if they wanted to chase him up.

DO NOT do this. There are records of people going to prison for perverting the course of justice, by pulling this stunt. There is always some Copper who will try to prove your story, because the responsibilty is still with the owner of the car to provide the driver's details. After all you let him drive your car and he was insured for it??

Why do people feel it is ok to speed? I am always on at my OH for it.
Just because the speed limit is 60 doesnt mean you have to drive at 60!
You say you have now slowed down and are aware of your speed that is what the cameras are there for.If you're not speeding you cant get caught

I have never said it is OK to speed...

But it is actually quite difficult to monitor your speed 100% of the time and never slip up.
I am doing just that at the moment..
just hope I can keep it up for 3 years without another slip.
Its allso affected by how many hours you spend a day driving. A lot in my case.
I really dont think there are many people who have honestly NEVER exeeded the limit.?

I hope you will be fine and not lose your your licence but why do people think that a speed limit is a target?

Drive within the speed limit and no need for anything to do with Sat Nav and speed camera detectors

get someone else to say they were driving as my work mate, only had 6 points, then got another 3 and has been told that he could lose his licence, he though he was ok as this lot of points would only take him up to 9 points but apparenetly there is a new rule, something about 3 offences within a certain period, I don't know the ins and outs of it but better safe than sorry, do not take those points if you can help it

I dare say I will get a "mouthful" of abuse as others have - BUT, what has been suggested is illegal and is strictly against the rules of this site. Perhaps he would would like to withdraw his statement.

It's funny, but unless you do 100's miles in one trip, you are unlikely to save much time by speeding.
I drive to work 8 miles. A mixture of rural, villages and dual carriageway. If I go as fast as I dare it takes 13 minutes. If I tootle along inside the speed limit it takes 15-16 minutes. Is it worth speeding for 3 minutes?

Go to poland and surrender your licence for a european licence, in UK you can not get points on an EU Licence

I have FoI Response from SY Safety Camera Partnership to say so too! asking how many european drivers have been prosecuted... NONE!!!

Any idea what that would do to your insurance? My guess would be at least double.

If the OP had been caught drink driving instead of speeding would there still be all these posts suggesting ways of getting off it?
    Can I help?

I have been banned for 2 years for dangerous driving, I have done the exchange for a polish licence and it is clean as they do not record points in the same way, it reduced my insurance by £1800!!!!!!

imho it's a bit cheeky prattling on about moral high grounds when there is a perfectly good reason for the 30mph limit--I presume have you seen the ad with the little girl coming back to life reminding us that at 30mph there is an 80% chance she'll live at 40mph there's an 80% chance she'll die.
Fine, but when there's a 30 mph limit on a featureless dual carriageway the logic rather falls apart. Limits for good reason work and it's fair that speeders are dealt with by the law. However, and sadly, the setting of limits has become ever more silly over the last few years.
    Happy chappy
