Ive whisked egg whites in my chef fir the first time today and they just wouldnt firm up at all.
What speed do you use? How long does it take?
Ooh, I thought of you this afternoon. I tried to whisk up 2 egg whites in my metal bowl, I usually whisk up 6 no prob at all, but they just wouldn't get going with only 2. So I swapped to my plastic bowl which sits slightly higher and all was good.
If you were only trying to do 2 perhaps your whisk just needs adjusting down a little?Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
Well I had a pastry disaster yesterday. It was so crumbly it wouldnt roll out and I ended up binning it and getting my old food processor out to make a new batch.
The recipe book says to be careful not to over-process the pastry mix. I think I under-processed it! Anyone else make pastry with the k-beater?0 -
No not pastry but have made scones, they come out beaut
My mum makes pastry in her's, she says it is the best pastry ever!

Maybe a touch more liquid? Flour is affected by many things so you could require more liquid than the recipe states, just a thought:j Started my weightloss journey, its neverending!! :j

I made 2 lots today, shortcrust and chocolate, it's the first time I've made the chocolate in my Kenny, it came out much better than in the food processor.
Perhaps you didn't add enough liquid? I use the full 3tbs.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -

Very strange. I do mine on max speed until they start to froth then gradually add the sugar and continue on max until stiff, perhaps 4 wasn't fast enough.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
Used the bread recipe from this thread today (first time bread maker) and it came out perfect. Although I have not tried it (new year diet) the rest of the family loved it. Thankyou0
