I just used plain flour and it was fine. I used 500g flour, a pinch of salt, 4 eggs and half a teaspoon of oil and this made enough for 2 adults, 2 almost teens and a baby generously.
Seeing this and the photos I am so tempted get the pasta attachment (especially as I have some amazon vouchers burning a hole in my pocket!)
Did you use the K beater or the dough hook to mix the ingredients?0 -

I got mine for £22.50 from Debenhams (on offer for £25 and used a 10% discount code). Can't wait to try it tonight. Will definitely do half the recipe though.
Can you leave it in a pile to dry out a bit or do the strands need to be completely separated to avoid them sticking together?0 -

No, you can leave it in a pile. Just make sure they separate enough as they leave the machine. If you feed dough in and it is too wet, then they clump a bit and need to be gently eased apart as they leave the machine before they land in the bowl or tray you are using to catch them. If you manage to catch the mix while it is all still breadcrumb stage, the pasta comes out a little drier and stays separated in the bowl.0 -

I made two loaves of dried tomato bread to go with our soup tonight, and two more fruit loaves using the last bottle of cider. I don't know how the cider inhibits the yeast, but boy did it take a long time to rise. It was s-l-o-o-o-w!

Pasta-making was a success! I managed to catch the dough at what I thought was the breadcrumb stage but even then the slightly clumpier bits didnt go through as smoothly as the bits that looked like just like flour. It was super easy & quick though and tasted great! I also made my first ever pesto, although I think I will probably get the Multimill attachment to do this and other small tasks in future as doing it with a rolling pin (I dont even have a morta & pestle) wasnt ever going to make the best pesto!0
