Up in the back streets of Scouseland, I get a cut and colour for £35.00, and she does a really good job!
Some not very nice people burgled our house on Friday night:(. I am now the proud possessor of an unuseable front door and a long insurance claim form; they are the proud possessors of several pieces of jewellery and somewhat peculiarly, a quarter full bag of dog biscuit?????
If you ever feel the need to depress yourself, may I suggest a trip round the local cash convertors and cash4gold emporiums:eek:?
Oh what an awful thing to have happened!
People who do things like that really get my goat, we had neigbours once who thought because both myself and then hubby worked that we were better off than them. At the time, we were desperately trying to stave off losing our house and were counting the pennies desperately while they had someone in the house who earned 3 times more than the pair of us put together and their mortgage was less than half ours (we bought at the height, they bought at the bottom).
Their problem was they had a liking for illegal substances....so thought it was perfectly ok for them to nick the milk from our doorstep! We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -

I am absolutely cream crackered. James had his interview at his first choice university today and wanted moral support, so dragged me along too (not into the interview I hasten to add!)
So a day of trains and rushing around like a headless chicken it has been....and a couple of unsettled ASD children to return to tonight. We made it! WE did Next vouchers at Shell but never have trouble spending £80-90 quid on diesel
. Also popped in at the Galleria this evening when picking DW up from a birthday party and bought £100 of Gap vouchers (so if you get some for your birthday/xmas you will know why) then on to Tesco for some snap and save and clicksnap action before being a few minutes late for the pick up.
Now driving the even more thirsty petrol car as the diesel can not go in to gear...and I was thinking of blowing 60 quiidco on a memory foam mattress topper but I guess that can continue to wait...
Can't say why but please could the np pray for the michaels's this week and especially on Friday.
I'll have you in my thoughts for Friday xWe made it! That is fabulous, and that you had a day with him. :T0 -
I don't really 'do' praying, but will be thinking of the michaelses and keeping my fingers crossed that things go however you would like them to.0

It's very strange, but in the UK 9 out of 10 people "don't do praying". In the USA, probably more than half the population do "do praying", and in India probably 99.99% "do praying".
Any explanations for the disparity? No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

Annoying! How long do you feel you can hang around waiting for the right house to come on the market? Can't say why but please could the np pray for the michaels's this week and especially on Friday.
Yes, I will. If you want me to know what about, then email or PM me.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

At the moment there is no rush. The pitter patter of tiny feet may change that at some point, but for now I'm happy to rent for the next six months at least, and probably another year.
What does complicate stuff is that the flat we rent is on the market so could be sold at any time. The worst possible scenario is that we have to leave there and sign another 6 month tenancy somewhere else at just the wrong moment.0 -
I'm consoling myself with the thought they have a well-fed dog!
One of the pieces was sentimental, belongs to my OH, who went into permanant full time nursing care last week, rest of it is merely annoying.
I too will be investing in a new back door, in a penny, in for a pound.
Sorry to hear about your news. Haven't been burgled yet but know people who have.
Michaels will keep fingers crossed for you for Friday :A.
