Rome! The eternal city

Lydia j you have a lab?
Do you mean lab as in labrador? Avatar-dog was a lab-greyhound cross, so we called him a labrahound. We got him in 1999 aged about 5, and he died in the spring of 2008, aged about 13ish.
Or do you mean lab as in a room for teaching science in? We have more physics teachers than physics labs, so we all move round. I teach in 3 different ones this year, so don't have one to call my own.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

Oh yes, some people will tell you "if you travel alone people will talk to you" - the reality is that either they don't..... or the ones that attach themselves to you are such an awful nightmre you'd wish they hadn't.
Possibly also what you do. An activity or learning holiday might be better for single but sociables..it's not at all uncommon for riders to go n riding breaks alone, whether instructional or pleasure riding.0 -
I meant a Labrador. I have one, this whole iPad thing is sh ite, I was going to upload a photo of my dog.

Time to start planning then! Rome's an easy one to start with. Short flight, no visas, easy to get around. You can go on your own if you want to and won't look out of place. There are hop on hop off buses that will get you used to where the sights are, after which there's a relatively efficient metro (though the bag snatchers are legend, so definitely need to keep your wits about you). It's actually quite small for a capital city and you turn a corner and see another piece of antiquity.
I've not been to China, it's definitely on my to do list. DH and I are looking at doing a tour in a few years, probably 2015 or 17, 2016 we've earmarked for the Rio Olympics currently so not likely to happen then. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

I am either in a job, with limited annual leave.... or out of work, with limited income. Travel is expensive... there's always been something more important it had to be spent on.0
