I hope the mission is all home related stuff rather than work.

You sound really 'into' your job which is great, it is just that you need to have R&R and worklife balance.

unfortunately in science, worklife balance is a myth :)

but am doing home stuff. we have just measured the greenhouse glass that is broken and need to go and find a glazier.

washing is on, and i am going to get stuff from shops. then possibly move the leaves in the garden as it's not currently raining. :D

    will work tomorrow/tonight.

edit: change of plans, no to glaziers as we need to clear stuff around there but woop, have booked in for a massage at 1pm. now, that's the way to spend the day.

I thought we were doing quite well till checking the time and seeing it is already after eleven!

We have cleared a patch of bramble near the little chickens by the house. Just about to plant some bare root roses, then are seeing some fencers at lunch time.

So pleased that you had a splendid night out last night with an old friend that is the joy of a friendship I bet you had a lot to talk about, so much so you probably missed seeing your team beating Adelaide 1.0 or did you go together?

Of course you did not go together because you met in the evening, sorry I am not awake yet.

We followed the Eng vs NZ game. My mate hates soccer but we share a love of union and cricket. We've been friends since October 1990: we've been friends longer than we haven't been!

How do you handle 'the morning after' if you had a number of cocktails I would have had a hangover that you could photograph.:(

Hangovers don't really bother me if I'm honest. The only difference today with a 'normal' Saturday is that Mrs Generali drove just in case I was still over the limit. If I ran someone over due to my slow reactions because I was still drunk I couldn't live with myself.

You will be pleased to hear that our Bungalow has just gone onto the market advertised on most of the major portals so we are now ready for receiving prospective clients.

    ...Let the fun begin Generali..:)

Good luck with selling your bungalow. Just remember that in all places and at all times, estate agents are absolute !!!!!! and must never be trusted. Never ever.

We have come to a decision about our holiday this year. We are not going to the Maldvives. We got fed up looking, felt dissatisfied with the mismatch of when we wanted to go (Sept for our Anniversary, with chance of a lot of rain - or Xmas when we would have wanted to include our daughter and doubled our budget:eek:). It had become a chore.

I think our expectations were being hyped in our heads by it being our 30th Anniv (we bought ourselves a VW camper for our 25th) .

On Thursday after spending time with others following a family funeral we have punctured our bubble and realised we would enjoy more a re-run of last years holiday when my sister+ex BiL joined us for some of it. That if we can do that and I can be well for all of it is more important.

My other sister has just returned from two months in Mauritius, she has spent winters there for the last 3 years staying for up to 3 months as she has come to terms with lifes slings and arrows. She rents a house on the beach and said this year there were weeks upon weeks of wind and rain but more importantly as soon as she had arrived she realised she wanted to be home. She reminded me that Paradise is in your mind and heart not on a beach.

Spirit, I think it's right.. Paradise is in the heart.

I am very envious as a parent is off to morrocco just as the other comes back from a month in Italy. I would also love for dh to fly out and see his brother, his girlfriend (bils girlfriend, not dh's!) and new neice but he won't go with out me.

Because I got the passport I feel I ought to use it, and we are considering a grocery shop over the channel when the weather is easy for us to leave here for two days. We could actually go now, but the heating in the rates mobile has broken, so we have to drive everywhere with the windows open to keep the windows clear ipn this weather, and so I don't fancy it. :)

Drivers that were involved in celebrations the night before can indeed on many occasions have a blood/alcohol reading in the morning so it was very wise to have Mrs Generali to take the wheel a very resposible decision.

Thank you for your kind words about our forthcoming sale and we also note your comments.;)

I just about managed to drag myself around Richmond park. It's a half decent day and the deer were out in force. Bit muddy though...

Sunny/warm here today. Mostly blue skies. Treated myself to a box of fake After Eights from Lidl and a microwave curry.

Didn't sleep well last night... head needs to churn stuff for awhile I guess.

Have you heard of the Man in Seat 61 lir? He is a legend in train travel in Europe and has mapped out how to get to most places by train. You can now take a new and much improved service from Paris to Milan or Venice, so perhaps you can get to Italy after all. How does this sound? Daytime Eurostar to Paris, overnight to Milan, onwards daytime journey on Italian trains if needed.
