Not going out - you've got me all night ... and tomorrow ... er, Sunday ... Monday ... Tuesday ... Wednesday .... er... and Thursday-Friday... then the next weekend ... and ... :)

i'm sorry that you've got so much free time. but you've now got options to start getting stuff back together and get going on the next phase?

There is a possibility of doing it that way (in fact, the guy today said if it were him he would have done this size but two of them  or one bigger and one this size, or one mega one). The idea like yours being that wit two you have something (as we have) rather than nothing In the case of breakdown, plus, more capability of dealing with things like hot water demand at multiple points concurrently.

But, when dealing with boilers of this size 'just' not being not big enoughis quite big deal. Consider, nice builder rebuilt our utility to fit this in.

But that's one issue of several. It's been incorrectly plumbed, the cylinder is not capable of what we wanted (three sources of heat, this does two) and the pipe work is workable but is of too small an ideal diameter.

The other thing is, we ARE putting in from scratch. Patching a system in place seems sensible. Ours was a scratch start, so getting it ok fromthe start seems the right approach.

It seems a bit silly that it has taken so long to get them to admit the problem :(
At least now you can move forward to fixing it.

Though annoyingly the time there is multiple calls on the hot water it is all from the extension boiler, a combi, leaving the tank full from the non-combi full. Because of course separate systems does mean you choose the source by selecting the output.

Absolutely. They should deliver what was promised.

PS If you do go for a smaller boiler as a supplement, they do come very small these days. I think the which best buy is the size of (and designed to hide behind) a standard kitchen wall cupboard.

Oh PN - sorry to hear your news (or the edited bits anyway). Rubbish if it wasn't your choice of timing, but hopefully it will work out for the best if you can get your online empire back up and running or at least find a job somewhere less difficult.
