Oh no, twozerdog definitely does see animals on the TV. I have video evidence of him chasing a sheepdog across the screen :)

I think I need a DVD of that show. They loved it. Big dog has nev shown interest before in the tv, though dog dog is a regular tv watcher.
    Happy Birthday, Mr SC.

I think dogs are more interested in sound from the telly maybe. Our terrier has no interest in the screen but loves having the radio on when we're not around ( we think!)

I'm not sure their eyes have a "refresh rate" that matches the TV rate set up for our eyes and maybe doesn't allow them to see things moving on the screen at the speed we do ( I know that birds are much faster than us but I'd a feeling dogs were slower or out-of-synch in some way).;)

Edit: just cross-posted with kabayiri on this.

Both my cats got to 18 without having their teeth brushed. I'd never heard the suggestion that cats needed dental hygienists until just now.

Is there a cat equivalent of doggy dentisticks, maybe?

...nor me. Have had loads of cats and it's never come up as an issue before. The vet has moved recently to newer, plusher premises though.....

Did you know, when Whiskas became New Whiskas in the 80s, what it was that they added which made "8 out of 10 cats" love it?

Answer : tiny tiny quantities of one of the sweetest substances known to man. So tiny that human taste buds would not detect it's presence, but cats sure could!

Perhaps the vet has latched on to the notion that a sweet tooth is a bad tooth (eventually) :rotfl:

33C and gloriously sunny here today. I'm really annoyed that I got the bus in this am, I shoulda ridden the bicycle in. Oh well, there'll be plenty more days like this

I went out for a lovely lunchtime stroll which seems to have blown away the last of my cold too.

    Happy days.

And I have video evidence of westie following dogs on the agility track of the Crufts dog show.

He also likes Shaun the Sheep. :)

He hates the Dentastix advert with the dogs with human teeth though....goes completely mental.

    This made me laugh.

I thought you could get away with this sort of thing in Aus. I've certainly used them before in Europe, maybe Belgium?

    I love this bit.
An Australian feminist publisher and commentator, Anne Summers,:rotfl: said the toilets were “asking men to put their d---- in these mouths as urinals”.

Teeth. If they are plaque covered sadly they need cleaning.

Cat food is generally bad for cats ( huge generalisation). We feed our cats raw chicken on the bone....chewing the bone does the job nature intended, but it's scary to start raw feeding cats and dogs when we have had a life time of information saying not to feed chicken bones.

Raw chicken bones are fine, not cooked ones. Same with lamb.

Edit...that sou ds like we just feed our cats raw chicken, that's not true. We used to exclusively raw feed, which I think is best, but it's also time consuming and I have to kep careful records for my memory to check I am balancing correctly. Now my cats get a commercial wet food ( though not a British one) and its supplemented with raw meat on the bone.

The dogs have been on a dry food ( I hate these, they are really the worst choice IMO) for convienience while builders in and me unwell. We have Ben discussing the impact it's ha on them recently and agree its terrible despite its convenience and relative cheapness when feeding huge animals ( dog dog has very fast metabolism and eats same amount as big dog, who has to be kept on low rations for her size ) When the kitchen is sorted we will revert to a raw food diet for the dogs.

Political correctness is in the process of arriving in Aus and it's confusing the hell out of people.

We're still at the point where I can do what the hell I want but you should be held to the very highest standards.

Bars and other smaller businesses are in a position where they can be bullied. It's still reasonable for the Government (majority 2) to support someone who has had to settle a sexual harassment case and to support another who has apparently spent over $200,000 of trade union funds on prostitutes and high living. Oh and on his election campaign (all illegally it appears).

I have my doubts that the urinals are offensive. In bad taste sure but not offensive.
