Does anyone remember The Alfred Hitchcock Hour back in the 60s. Especially does anyone remember an episode called "The Unlocked Window". This was one of the scariest things I have ever seen. If you have seen it don't mention "that bit" in case anyone wants to spend 48 minutes watching it.

May be heading for a ban but I think some people will enjoy this (don't let children watch though).

If you remember it what did you think to it?!

I think I need a DVD of that show. They loved it. Big dog has nev shown interest before in the tv, though dog dog is a regular tv watcher.

I've got a cat that loves [STRIKE]watching [/STRIKE] chasing vultures but generally our dogs and cats have never bothered.

In other animal news Ginger survived a trip to the vets today as he has a bad ear. Claw from fighting lodged in it.

Oh did the honours this morning and we have been told he also needs his teeth cleaning @ £210. Having owned moggies for many years never heard this one before. What's the verdict here NP's.....does he really need his teeth cleaning or is a new way to squeeze a few ££££ out of us?

 I've had dentistry done on dogs but never cats and certainly never paid that much

LIR, is your cute little curlydog a Bedlington? I used to dog walk with a couple who had a "flock" of 6 or 7 of them years ago but I've not seen one since.

I figure it's a way to extract more £££s. If you're THAT bothered you'll have already been using some "magical teeth cleaning chews" that are probably on the market (I've seen them for dogs).

    I'd not do it.

I seem to recall reading that dogs can't see television pictures; which doesn't make sense - there is too much anecdotal evidence of dogs responding to things which are on.
It's cats - their brains work faster than ours so all they see are the dots that make up the image. We're not seeing a picture, we're just seeing dots that move faster than the human eye/brain can separate them; it's an illusion. But cats' eyes/brains work faster, so they're not fooled.

Back home later tonight, got stuck in traffic ..... almost lost the will to live; if there'd been a layby I'd have pulled over, crawled under a bush and had a snooze until they'd all gone :)

My cats love eastenders, I think it's because of all the shouting and rows, they see little of that at home.

They also like cat.tv Internet site, :D

OH works late to avoid driving home in traffic. An extra hour in the office when most people have gone is productive and his journey home is 30-40 minutes rather than 50-80.

Almost 4 years ago a stray moved in with us. He had gingivitis and needed several teeth removing. Another bout of gingivitis a couple more of his teeth removed. Then he was hit by a car and had to have all but two of the remaining teeth extrtacted.

Last week he was dribbling again and DD took him to the vet - gingivitis again. Never once has anyone suggested cleaning his teggies - if £210 had been the answer it would have been a bargain.

Our 13 year old cat has never had any dentistry...and she would not take any prisoners if we were to try

I would as you vet for the clinical case for cleaning your cats teeth - what is it rying to cure or prevent?
