ideally i'd like a 1.2 but nothing in that engine for my price range. i have scoured the local friday ad, ebay and gumtree. there are some potential ones but my knowledge is pretty minute on cars so would prefer dealer.
wish cars didn't break though :rotfl:
Thank you mystic_trev, bertie, all the sssssss and everyone else who has chipped in. You have all been very helpful and sage in your advice.0 -
Must have been a while back, I can't remember the last time I used a key to unlock a car....
...then again I can't remember the last time I used a key to unlock the house door as we just push the blipper to open the garage
Last time I used a key to lock a car or my front door was approx 2 hours ago! I've yet to have a remote locking/unlocking car.....We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

If you are going down the Japanese road, I had a lovely Honda Jazz. Think you would be looking at high mileage for that price, but I really loved driving it, felt very solid for a little car. They were only available in a 1.4 engine.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. I've not even seen that model available around here!
It's a shame we are not well served by public transport, cars used for going around go very quickly!0 -
The flat overseas was meant to come with a web cam in the lounge that you can log into from anywhere. Unfortunately local internet providers can't provide the matching technology. (For the technical, it requires a fixed IP address that the local ISPs only supply to businesses for £££). We thought it would be a bit dodgy letting the flat out and spying on the renters.
Basically, whatever your home setup, you get a static IP address from them and connect your service through their servers - and as your IP address changes it still knows it's you - and provides you with a static service to connect to from your UK home. Hope that makes sense.
No idea of costs.
Edit: Reading this might help you get a handle on things: http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/connect-home-network-dyndns/
I used to use dyndns - which is completely free - and mentioned in the first couple of paragraphs on there.0 -
That snow is coming down heavy again'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0

I have a 1L Yaris which was our only car and now is our second car. We drove the 4 of us to Brisbane and back in a weekend in it (almost 2,500 round trip) and that worked ok so not that underpowered.
I think they're great little cars.0 -
My last car was a V Reg Yaris - I had it from new I think it had done 160,000 when I changed it last May. It was BRILLIANT. It ran on fresh air, almost always went through its MOT trouble free.
It cost about £45 to fill the tank last spring.
I had one significant breakdown and that was the Alternator. otherwise over its lifetime the exhaust manifold rusted and had to be replaced ditto the sump - Mr Spirit said that was quite unusual - I know nothing.
I sold it on ebay for £400. The bodywork was still very good and my reason for changing it was that it was sounding rougher and it did not owe me anything.
It was not speedy but it did not matter and coped well with my 56 miles daily return commute, rural roads, busy motorway and urban. It was comfortable with a neat dashboard.
When I put the seats down (they split) the back was like a small van.
By my experience I would consider it as there are many years of cheap motoring to be had from a Yaris with only 82000 miles on it. I think it is worth a look.0 -

If so, the place where I work is looking for someone with a condition on the spectrum to act as an expert in the subject area. Pay isn't fantastic, but it is a start. Please PM me if anyone is interested. They are looking for someone that has worked with other people who are aspies or autistic.
Would have been perfect to middle or youngest son....if they had been older! We made it!
