Mainly of course because of the business and its associated valuables, but also because of a planned business use for them. That sounds confusing and a little dirty. The security aspect is a belated housewarming gift.
We cannot have trad alarms because of the critters, and rurality and fairness to others so the house is also planned to be covered by some not often used in domestic settings security devices.
I don't plan to watch my house like TV, but it would be nice to get pics that could be used for identification and hopefully prosecution.
I can only imagine what an asset this would be in the long run for everyone in your employ, it gives you the peace of mind that your business is being 'watched over' 24/7 and also that every employee is made aware of the system.
And also tapes that run the system can be checked if you so desire at intervals to suit yourself.
I recommend the system to the house:)0 -
With your recent experience a weaker person than what I believe you to be, could very well get paranoid.
Weaker, as in if I was in less need of a cleaner I wouldn't try again.
I have been very paranoid in the past 24 hours. I was thinking of all the things that could have been taken - and may still have been.
Luckily computer password reminders scattered all over the place have things like "the usual", "grandma's favourite star" and "your school+tree+usual number divided by 4" so no help to anyone.
We do have a draw full of keys. Like 2-4 for each current and previous door, but unlabelled. No way of stock taking. Changing the locks would mean the locks to 5 doors excluding the front door. OH reckons thieves operate in one way only. I'm feeling paranoid. Reminding myself we have security lights and an alarm.
But passports were not taken nor was jewellery, so maybe it was an opportunity offered by someone that she was tempted by.
Full marks to NatWest, all our bank accounts have been restored to their previous state.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. The flat overseas was meant to come with a web cam in the lounge that you can log into from anywhere. Unfortunately local internet providers can't provide the matching technology. (For the technical, it requires a fixed IP address that the local ISPs only supply to businesses for £££). We thought it would be a bit dodgy letting the flat out and spying on the renters.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. When I said weaker I meant weaker willed and not anything else I am sure that you took it that way.
I am very pleased that NatWest restored your bank accounts that would otherwise have been a nightmare to have to live with.
It will take time to heal the wounds and I hope that will be sooner than later, just take the fact that Spring is just around the corner and better weather follows. I am sure that everyone on MSE wishes you all the very best and send their regards to you and your family.:)0 -

Seems to be current front runner.
I had a Ford Granada Ghia years ago and found that the Ghia had so many extras as apposed to the regular model I felt like the 'bees knees' and it served me well and it was so comfortable.
At least spares are readily available should you ever need them.:)
No doubt a regular user will be along soon. All the best.0 -

Cambelt just changed, so that's one large cost you won't have to worry about. Fiesta's are fairly cheap to service and maintain.Downside, it's over 10 years old, and the £170 tax.0 -

What lir said.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

Don't mind the age and the tax. overall running cost is a factor for me.
I drive 22 miles each day with very rare trips of longer distances.just wondered if it was a ripoff price.
it did get regular servicing so not very worried about condition.0 -
Misskool, I had a ford. I swear it knew when it's servicing wa due. Go a day or a mile over and it started to complain....be organised. Also....mine was about 8 years old when it started costing silly money..stuff going wrong all the time. High mileage though....cannot remember what.0
