Pastures, now that you are settled and have a job would you consider looking for another one? I really think you deserve better.
If not then can we help in some way to coach you to find your voice to say that you want to be treated better?
As you post I want to go round and sort out these employer dinosaurs.
Sometimes people travel further with a kick up the 4r$e than with a pat on the back.0 -

I'd keep a can of de-icer beside the door and give it a spray when I got back.
Years ago when I lived in Scotland, where winter was winter and sometimes frosty weather would last for many weeks, many of us used to pump grease into the door locks of our vehicles and never suffered from freezing locks because the grease repelled the water. Not much grease was really required just enough to fill the visible areas.0 -
Our beautiful snow storm didn't stick and it hasn't been so cold, so we have slush rather than ice rink. Much relief for today!0

And pay? That thread just gets you a discount code AFAIK. Generally the lounges available to paying customers are not half as nice as those that the airlines operate, in terms of staff helpfulness, ambiance, food choices etc
I have airport angels through my bank account, but I think I need to be travelling to guest OH.Spirit wrote:I did that once and got back advice to meet up with travellers who belong to another forum once we had arrived at the airport. It was too complicated and felt a bit weird to me.
I think that lot, if I've got the right forum, are generally happy to sign you in and then leave you to your own devices.
The good news is that the flight operated and was only half an hour late taking off.
Now we wait to see what the return trip brings. Including the fact that he took the BMW, so it could be a hairy drive back from Stansted if the weather turns bad.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. We've had another cool change come through today so it's been 23C and cloudy. We've had a few spits and spots of rain too, "sprinkling" as the locals call it quite charmingly.
New job seems to be going well so far. The people are nice and friendly while being very professional which is my favourite sort of workplace.
The last proper job I had (not the fill-in temp one) they were kind of playing at working which I find really aggravating. If you want to mess about for a bit then I'm up for that but when there's work to be done then get on with it, don't spend all day on the interweb and then complain that you can't get it all done.0 -

Must have been a while back, I can't remember the last time I used a key to unlock a car....
...then again I can't remember the last time I used a key to unlock the house door as we just push the blipper to open the garageI think....0 -

Parents car has no key unlock and drive. I really dislike this. It's much slower than just doing it. I just unlock the door I am getting in, with a key, often. If I use the key fob to unlock the whole c ar which I do more often, I like to get in and lock again.0

I don't like it either. As you know my car is quite old. Recently while finding something in the boot, I managed to disconnect the wiring to the boot and now have to unlock it with the key, while all the other doors work from the key fob. It isn't worth taking back to the garage, even though I get mates rates, for something so inconsequential.
The thought of doing something like that and my whole car not working fills me with dread. At least when the battery is flat in this car I can get in it with the key and pop the hood to charge the battery, I don't know how you would do this in a keyless car, has anyone experienced this? Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? We had a Renault that used to lock the doors once the car started moving and got above something like 5 or 10 mph. It was great.0
