No apples but put a cube of cheese:o on needle and donned rubber gloves. Pulled, cheese flew off, needle bent over. Dog has eaten the cheese.0 -
Hiya lir.... miss you too :A
I'm well and hope you are too. It's good to see you are still a regular.
I sometimes feel guilty that I don't visit more often but I used to spend so much time and life became much more demanding.
Am just cooking dinner atm (a late one again!). I wanted to see what people were saying about the flat rate pension plans and of course no visit would be complete without calling in on the Nice People0 -

Oh dear! Rubber gloves have always done the trick for me.:o
(fwiw last thing I was jabbing was one of the horses not me, and the apple would have been a recipe for disaster). I hate injecting horses.0 -
Do you know the make/ model (do they have models?) - we could look for pictures which might help us make suggestions?
On less serious matters - I'd never realised that must be where 'mayday' came from.
It is this one - although the needles I have are not their recommended ones

:hello: How lovely to have you back, even if only for a brief visit. Do try to drop in when you can without getting sucked back into spending more time on here than you think is a good thing for you.No apples but put a cube of cheese:o on needle and donned rubber gloves. Oh dear oh dear. I did laugh at your description, though. Have you got any pliers you could grip the needle with while you pull the rest of the "pen"? Hope you sort something out soon.
At least the dog did well out of the incident, I suppose.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
Welcome to the new old fashioned way.
There are plenty of scams where people borrow large sums of money from various banks and shuffle it round for years before anyone realizes what's going on.
Also this sort of thing can be an indicator of money laundering.
Banks are increasingly being required by law to get into your business. If you don't like it you'll have to run your business interests without a bank account I'm afraid.
Or alternatively the bank was just trying to sell him something. Perhaps banks have now invented single premium bankruptcy insurance...0 -
