My taste in car colours changes, I used to think silver looked unpainted but now I quite like it.
Also some cars look better in certain colours than others. On a Juke forum the most popular colours are red and white by far.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. :rotfl:So do I. My last car was what I considered to be a nice blue colour. My current car is sort of blue - a pale air force blue-grey sort of thing. I feel it's boring compared with the old one.
lir, it's interesting that you like anonymous car colours when your taste in home decor shies away from anything remotely bland, conventional or unremarkable. Is that because everybody sees your car, but only those you invite in get to see your home?
Probably partly that if i am honest. But its rooted In being a fairly basic security measure. :A:rotfl::rotfl:

I wonder what the most unpopular colour for a car would be for those posting on this Forum and of course why.0

That was plan A, but she said she was more comfortable having me at the start than the finish. Thanks for reminding me of this, I'm going to suggest we revert to this plan.
silvercar - I know it is hard with Mum's - and I would give anything to have just one more day with mine - so it is tempting to just give in to whatever it is that gives you time with her. Not sure of the desired frequency of visits but would a combination of the following help:
Possibilities
- you visit her and stay for a couple of nights so no excessive toing and froing, you get to do things on her turf, and with her in her home.
- you ask one of your sons/your husband to pick her up or take her back - Mr S would often be the one to collect/return my mum (a 300 mile round trip). It is not a big ask to expect adult children to help out in such a way.

I remember when I bought my first car when I was a 'teen and it was green, I lived on a farm at the time and if I parked it in a field, as we used to in those days, I lost it more times than I could remember.0

Actually, my car is blue. I really like blue. And red.
I want one of those ones with 6 wheels, like Lady Penelope has. But not that colour.
What did it use for fuel? Probably atoms, I'm guessing!:D
Talking of old books out of copyright, I stumbled across a webpage about an ancient book called "Whirlaway" a friend once owned when we were kids. It wasa kids paleontology book and it was ancient but obscure already (written in 1937 and most copies destroyed in a bombed warehouse).
I was tickled pink to find a downloadable version - the author was a Brit who settled in Australia and wanted to get kids intereested in Science. It was no pun intended a monster of a book and way ahead of its time. Chuffed I can see it agian, must let DS have a look at it.There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -
One time the work lease car I had was in for a service and they gave me a pink/crab coloured toyota starlet, some how it didn't really suit my image as a go-getting management consultant but being me I didn't let it worry me even driving it to one of my first dates with Mrs Michaels.
I dislike beige cars...like our current one but buy on price. I'm surprised white cars became fashionable again, some people must like spending their whole time washing them....I think....0 -

It is probably a bit much to expect your bank to perform a credit check each time a chunk of money goes through your account. Especially as most UK customers demand that banking services are provided at nil cost to themselves.
The sales bit is probably true too.
Banks are increasingly expected to know what is going on with their clients because it is expected that they will provide large amounts of forebearance if customers get into trouble. Gone are the days when a bank could take the asset a customer had put up as security for a loan merely because that client can't pay the loan.
The way to look at it is that it's a bit like going to see the doctor about a sore knee and him asking you about your nasty cough too. The call centre person doesn't care who you are and doesn't know anybody you know and has a privileged relationship with you so try not to think of it as an invasion of privacy.0 -
My last 4 cars have all been different manufactures and Silver, Blue, Black and White, in that order.
On top of that, 1 Saloon, 1 Estate and 2 have been 4 X 4's
Only one of them was not a good car.
I guess I like change.0
