Ah yes Gens drinks...that was me..... the lone traveller. Told OH I was popping up to Borough to meet some 'fun cool :) 'people I had met online....and I was the only fun cool person to turn up  . I then got him to log into MSE and he read a PM from Gen which said a nutter called something very nutty had made a threat and it was cancelled. I looked around for nutters and couldn't see any...honest...and came home. Maye they thought I was the nutter :)

I still feel bad about that. I should have gotten your mobile number so I could call you.

    I've been Money Tipped!
Well, maybe next time you are over gen, something is planned via email like some of us did this summer? Ok know it's a long time off.
By then you might be too successful for us all. ;)

By the remarkable powers of healing (and a lot of ice) the swelling in my hand is al st gone, hurrah.

Dh and I just tried to put the geese away (they are sulking in the middle of the cake because they think it's spring and they want lady geese) but they aren't playing ball. They are going to have to take the risk with the fox tonight I am afraid. At least they can get into the centre of the water. They can be so ornery

I scored 6 on the scale of narcissism.
I am a little bit bossy and manipulative, and slightly more superior and self sufficient. Pretty accurate.

I am also going to have to delete 'Diamond Blast' from my phone before it gets out of hand. I can't post pics, but for sss555s - my high scores are from 79460 up to 119260 :)

Did I mention that I came out as being a bit superior?

Put it on my mobile and it seems a bit easier than the tablet...

Had 20-30 goes and the best I could manage was 74,440.

You are the champ Nikki, unless silvercar makes an excuse to borrow her son's android and has bionic fingers :D

Will be a good game to pass some time on the summer holiday flight

At least I have found something I can excel at  Not sure I understood entirely how the game works, but I didn't let that hold me back too much :rotfl:

Prob easier on a phone as smaller screen. I've found it quite draining on my battery though (if thinking of on a flight).

Well it would be draining getting those scores :A :p

I will have Sudoko which isn't draining to balance it on the flight. I like to switch about and will have mobile and tablet so should manage.

I did find last year that the flight (though shorter) did just fly by. :)

So did Rod Hull and he's still dead ;)

Maybe that's who I meant? But I am sure it was KDodd. He wanted to watch the football. it was fuzzy so he got a ladder out, climbed up, fell off and died. Quite tragic way to go in the general scheme of things.

Don't feel bad..it's one of those 'experiences' that goes down in my annals (that reads wrong :)) but I did have to do a bit of persuading to get OH to join in the last one. He hardly knew anything about anyone (apart from bits and bobs of gossip) but he did want to thanks to FIR (though I don't know if he actually got around to saying anything specific at the time) as he really helped direct DS on the road to where he is now.

I must apologise for the dreadful spelling in my early evening (post 1 large glass red wine) as I read it back (cos I forgot what I wrote about) and I used now 3 times instead of know .

We went down to Greenwich for an Indian with an old friend who has has a terrible few years (divorce etc).....saw our old shop and neighbours yet the whole town went through ''regeneration' for the Millenium + Olympics but so much of it hasn't really changed at all. Obviously there is now a large Costa where the old book shop used to be, a ginat Strabucks plus several chain restaurants but our old shop is now due for demolition to make an entrance to the new swishy hotel being built there.
Next door is going too( he is closing after 23 years). Must pop down when he is open to say bye.

Think it was Rod Hull who you meant.

Must have been horrible when no one turned up, and yes, that does read wrong :D

Pity i wasn't around of you would have still had a nice time.
  • Hey happy new year all, 3 weeks now been in house, just got internet on. Have a question that will most likely get answered better on this thread than starting a new one elsewhere.

Do you have a tumble dryer? If yes, do you rely on it?

If no, do you struggle getting everything dried over winter time?

Justifying the £350 gf is wanting to spend on a lovely black one that happens to match our new washing machine, fridge freezer and cooker....sigh.
    :eek:Living frugally at 24

Spent the day CV sifting today, it was very depressing. The quality of applicant was atrocious. We got 42 applications for the job. 31 of the CVs contained more than 5 spelling and grammar errors (almost all of those applicants claimed that they had excellent "attention to detail"). The worst one had 26 errors on a 2 page CV.

I only put 3 applicants in the "definitely interview" pile. One of those is already doing the job as is just going through the process so we can promote her.

This is a straightforward admin job paying up to £35k with 10% non contributory pension on top. I was expecting to have a hard time narrowing it down to less than 10 CVs.

    Yes and yes, seemingly!

I'd recommend you didn't get a condensing tumble dryer unless you really needed it.

OH got one (we already had an outside vent) because it was in fashion I think, but it's a poor substitute to the one that was vented through an external wall.
