    I do like a bit of Jay-Z :)

The albums I bought last week were:
Chase and Status - No more idols (I think http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YXIHXQjbtl8 is beautiful - listen to the lyrics if you don't like the music)

    Michael Kiwanuka - Home again

Jay Z and Kanye West - Watch the Throne (pretty much on the basis of http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BoEKWtgJQAU)

and Swedish House !!!!! - Until One (which I was quite disappointed with).

Edit: Ooh - I think that's the first time I've been censored on the internet :D

Just to add (as this is MSE - those albums were on 4 for £20 (instead of '£7 each', and I was hoping for an extra £5 back from Amex which I don't think will happen due to technical issues)

Quite enjoyed the chase and status one. See it a bit like plan B, who I have a lot of time for.

Edit: The Kane West one is great.

Not a lounge dancer, me. Like a lot of music types except the rubbish ones.

Like indie, but that's a bit broad. And dance. Went to the launch party for Kiss FM back in (god knows 88/89?) and also XFM. Rock's the good Mrs Zag's domain.

Grew up in the 70s when there was a huge turnover of musical styles from prog to glam to disco to reggae ska to punk indie Hate C&W except for C&W/R&B crossover. Mind you they have the best titles of any song genre. Bored of most jazz for reasons that will soon becme all too familiar to Nikkster, I'm afraid.

I like a good tune so rap doesn't do much for me I'm afraid.

    I'm 46

Thing is, If you love music then you will appreciate all genres even if some are better than others. Talent is talent, whenever it is born.

    I'm sure zag will agree.

Can't say I'm a great fan of C&W (my least favourite type of music until I'm proved otherwise).
I like jazz at the world/ dance boundaries at the very least - although I am guessing that is not what is/ was prevalent around here.

P.s. apologies for hi-jacking the thread into a temporary music slant.

Although Michael Buble was responsible for bringing me and an ex-colleague together a couple of weeks ago (running joke, but shows the power of music :))

I agree. Her management could have been more supportive, and could/ should have realised she was traumatised by the event.

As for the DJs, they impersonated the queen, for a laugh, not really a big deal IMHO. Certainly not as vindictive as the Jonathan Ross prank call.
I'm happy to have found a post to thank on this subject - after reading cries of 'throw them to the wolves' elsewhere. A post on DT urges manslaughter charges :(
Thoughts with the poor lady's family. 2 older teenage children I hear. She wasn't even the one who gave any info, just transferred the call. Hospital insisting no action was taken against any staff, Palace insisting they made no complaint. Prior to this terrible news everyone was pretty laid back about it, old Charlie was cracking some jokes.
....But, are we to keep believing that the Royals have such lax security that this could have honestly happened in the first place?
A publicity stunt with a tragic end?
    Strange times.

Anyway, evening all, sorry to gatecrash, been several months :D
