Thanks all thessssss. I did see, I'm in two minds tbh.

Sky flagged that up during the race and mentioned it constantly throughout their commentary. Goes to show that for all the teams' pounds, dollars and euros, they should spend a few of them monitoring what the TV pundits are seeing to use to their advantage.

I do feel an appeal should have been lodged at the time. Vettel was always going to get past Vergne - he drives for the sister team of Red Bull and was in a less powerful car. Also Ferrari should have noticed it sooner as it was powered by their engine. What should have happened - and there was plenty of time to do - would be to do a drive through penalty. That would have put Schumacher ahead of him and there's a chance he would still have been behind Vergne, who finished 28 secs behind him. However there is no chance whatsoever that he would have been allowed to stay in that place given the sister team status.

I'm a Ferrari fan but don't like seeing any season won or lost anywhere but on the track.

I agree. Even if "guilty" the penalty should just be a grid demotion at first race next season, nothing worse than a legal battle to decide the outcome of a complete race.

I've had someone with a PhD expressing interest in a degree level job  (well, technically, they only need to have a BTEC)

If I was allowed to advertise externally I would get good applicants - unfortunately I have to take an internal so I'll just get a cast off who is causing trouble in another dept with their attitude problem. Of course they'll get a glowing internal reference which I will have to accept at face value. AGAIN.

I'm going on "employment law / discrimination legislation" training on Monday. At least a 50% chance I will be sacked for something I say on the course. One of my colleagues answered the question "an employee phones in and says 'my cat is ill I can't come to work' what do you do as their manager?" With "get a new cat, or get a new job" last time. I will see if I can top that.

surely you just need to present a business case for an external candidate? we just got HR to run through the deployment list and it went out on a general ad!

Rules iz rules. We can only go external if we cannot find a suitably qualified internal candidate. As you don't need qualifications to do office admin I will never get it past HR. especially as HR is cutting its staff by 33% and needs to redeploy them all internally!

Do you really want condoms and lubes in your power cut box though silver? I can only think her motivation is that she is Annie, one of the few female preppers.
