Do you really want condoms and lubes in your power cut box though silver? I can only think her motivation is that she is Annie, one of the few female preppers.

I guess there wouldn't be much on tv?

I'm advertising £25-32k + 10% pension for someone to type letters, stick entries into a database and do my filing. Bet I don't get a single decent applicant and end up having to employ someone @rsey who thinks typing is beyond them. Again.

It definitely doesn't pay to be in Science!

surely you just need to present a business case for an external candidate? we just got HR to run through the deployment list and it went out on a general ad!

My old job (well 2 posts, I did a lot of work!) was advertised internally. There were no takers  My ex boss had something of a reputation...

Edit: when ad went external there were applications from PhDs and medical Drs.

Pity I couldn't do that at home....I would have been your gal!
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

If I was allowed to advertise externally I would get good applicants - unfortunately I have to take an internal so I'll just get a cast off who is causing trouble in another dept with their attitude problem. Of course they'll get a glowing internal reference which I will have to accept at face value. AGAIN.

I have the same problem, in that one of our managers will lovingly chuck someone from their departments to mine. They're usually either sorted within a few weeks or out the job. I'm generally sympathetic when it comes to my staff, however do tow a hard line, especially as we're taking on a second UK complex at the moment, bunging a 'part-time, extra bit of money' business plan from 10 years ago into a 21 site company across 14 countries, from 12 in 6 countries. This, therefore, creates a logistical nightmare!

Know anyone looking for a job? Just in case :o

This one is 23-28k pa but sadly not on a USS scheme, I wish they would let technicians join USS where we are.
Rules iz rules. We can only go external if we cannot find a suitably qualified internal candidate. As you don't need qualifications to do office admin I will never get it past HR. especially as HR is cutting its staff by 33% and needs to redeploy them all internally!

change your post to specialist something or other than. Surely if you write the job spec, you can make it specific/specialist enough to pick the person you want? Unless you have to use the generic one for the co.
