I really really really hate reversing cameras and those bleeps things.

I also notice that people seem to be increasingly less observant in newer cars. I think that peoe are expecting a bleep if something gets to close and so have stopped checking their blind spot.

I like keyless starting, but do not like whole car unlock and slow relock in some areas I might be tempted to park in. It's not safe. (I also dislike driving with the cars unlocked through cities and towns......can you tell I had a childhood in sometimes dangerous situations?)

I do like heated windscreens and wing mirrors and cruise control (even though I find it a bit scary too)

I hope you had to google that.

I'd have to google verything else BUT the chorus!

I loved punk/New Wave in general but thought the Pistols were rubbish. Rich Kids, Jilted John, Blondie, Stranglers the Damned and so on were all right.

As for cars my new car seems to be made of blind spots all joined together into one big enormous blind spot. It's built like a tank. Guzzles gas like one as well.

On the good side it's full of places to hide and store stuff. And it's very economical on the motorway. It'll do our next journey north I reckon and save us a few quid on petrol compared with the bigger car we usually take.

Don't have reversing stuff and a satnav. Do have a reasonable sense of direction and a sneaky fear of reversing into things.

So what do you get in a car at £1000 that you don't get in one that costs £461?

Probably a hell of a lot more....my car would be worth at most about £150 now!

Remote central locking for a start and quite probably a lot less rust :rotfl:
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

If you visit the website that offers to buy your car (other websites are available) you'll soon realise how little cash value it has.

OTOH, it'll be worth a lot more than its cash value to somebody trying to get on the road that needs the cheapest pair of wheels they can get their hands on. Especially if they'r handy with tools and can look after it better than I can. That probably includes everybody in the world :D

Used to teach about Total Energy Costing and had to teach that it costs roughly the same amount of energy to rip the materials out of the ground and make the car in the first place as the car uses up as fuel in its working life.

    Well,

Still no actual house heating...but....nice builder is coming back on Saturday to try and sort that with a plumber. Hot bath looks like it might have to wait still, as too much in one day to connect heating and hot water (the old radiators need to be flushed).

But the heating guy has been here today and the boiler is on, heating the vast tank of water, and that should give us heat in the bit nice builder has done (and I cannot wait to show it off).

We are just waiting really for the door furniture (estimated another fortnight) so we can close the doors and windows, and then we should be as happy as happy can be.

Considering this for the kitchen curtains and blinds.

I don't want anything kitchen ish.

I have had a bundle of samples arrive today and this is one of the lightest. It might be a bit clean looking though. On the website the green looked duller

The reversing camera is only good for when your almost parked to make sure your right at the back. The sensors are better as they aid you in reversing into a space. Can't imagine you need the cam in a juke as it's pretty short.
The heated mirrors are pretty useless as I like to use them to reverse out of my drive and they take too long to dimist.

I was never any good at reverse parking and could never estimate if I could fit in a space. With the camera I can judge the distance properly and so now I do reverse park - after 20+ years of driving.

I do rely on it heavily and often freak out someone sitting in a car behind as I never look out of the rear window and do go close up to the car behind.

On the basis that I wouldn't choose it, I'm sure it will suit your house fine. (Not meant to sound insulting)

Hahaha, I love it.:D. I am not insulted but I am grinning.

Back story behind the idea....I want them to
    Ok link
E faded splendour. Decrepid but as if they once were not. But I don't want to buy old curtains...partly because of number of windows. I thought these might look like the sun and moths had got to once resplendant colours and embroidery and turned them in to this.

    It sort of works.

I might also have found fabric for my hallway, but it's darker than I want. In all other respects it's perfect. I was trying to see if that would work in the kitchen too, but I think it's too dark. Sigh, one too bright really and one to dark....
